I really was impressed with Braun's "Who's Hiding?" and my toddler continues to love it-it's been about a year and he is still interested.
I purchased "Peekabo Baby" with high hopes. While it is very sweet, with clear illustrations and simple text, my main issue is that the flaps
don't completely cover the babies so the peek-a-boo effect is really minimal. You can basically see the baby's whole face and just a small section is covered. Perhaps a very young one would find it fascinating but for the 14 mos.+ I'd go with the animal hiding book. Both of Braun's books feature babies of various diversity which is great and in general I like his illustrations more than the Karen Katz series which I find overstimulating.

This is my son's favorite book, so we ordered a few for presents after he received it as a gift. Around 9 months old he started to really get into moving the flaps himself. Great illustrations! And the flaps open from different directions, so there's a little problem solving involved!

My 15 month old son would not get into books no matter how hard I tried. Then we found this book and immediately he loved it. It's short and sweet. I think any infant would enjoy this book. All it took was minimal enthusiasm when I said "peek a boo" and it's now a favorite book and has opened my son up to wanting to read more books.

I wanted to write a review in favor of this book. We have been reading this book with our daughter for several months, and she still loves it at 15 months old. Yes, the peekaboo flaps do not completely cover the whole baby, but I never saw that as a bad thing. It doesn't seem to bother my daughter at all, and it seems to be intentional - like to get baby to open the flap. Also, I find these flaps sturdier than some of our other peekaboo books. This is one of our favorites, and I would highly recommend it.

I agree with the previous reviewer completely. The peekaboo aspect just doesn't work well with the partially hidden babies. You can usually see one eye. I think it would have been better to cover them completely. It's too bad because the illustrations are really cute in this book and I like that there are a few extra objects in each spread to practice naming (ex. socks and shoes on one page)
