About Peggy McKenzie
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Peggy McKenzie has been in love with stories of happy endings and second chances since her first fairy tales in grade school. Then she became enamored by Miss Kitty and Marshal Dillion’s love story so much she decided to write her own romance stories where she’s sure to have the cowboy ride away with his lady love and live happily-ever-after.
Now living in East Texas, she’s right smack dab in the middle of cowboy country. And she’s more determined than ever to write her stories “where love becomes legendary.”

Blog postNote From Peggy
Recently, I posted on Facebook that I had experienced a catastrophic loss. It was a tongue-in-cheek post, not meant to be taken seriously. And while I was personally devastated by my loss, it pales in comparison to everything else going on in the world today. The pandemic. The war in the Ukraine. Kim and Kanye’s divorce. But before I go on, I want to thank everyone who responded in commiseration with me. A girl can tell who her real friends are in a situation lik3 weeks ago Read more -
Blog postNote From Peggy I’m a western romance kind of girl. I love both contemporary and historical westerns where the hero is a strong, afraid-of-nothing, good-looking son-of-a-gun with muscles for days and a sparkle in his eye for his lady love. You know the type. Like Matt Dillon who chased Miss Kitty all around the Longbranch trying to find some alone time. But why did the handsome lawman seem to love Miss Kitty so much and still run from the marriage noose? Could it be there was another woman co2 months ago Read more

Blog postNote From Peggy I got started late as a writer. I won’t give away my age, but let’s just say I’m not a spring chicken. When I started writing, I was naive enough to believe that all I had to do to be a successful writer was write books. Silly me! With social media, advertising, and marketing so important for a writer to be seen in the sea of millions of products, I realized I had to step up my game and learn something new. I had to learn something totally out of my wheelhouse and I’m doing ju3 months ago Read more

Blog postNow, I will admit I'm not going to enjoy the 150-degree heat this summer in East Texas. Not by a long shot. No, sirrreeeeee! I was pretty partial to those cool, dry afternoons in Colorado. I won't lie to ya. Not looking forward to the heat or the humidity, but...
I am looking forward to getting our swimming pool completed. Our youngest little dude is two and he can't wait to jump in. Thank goodness someone else is going to be teaching him how to swim because I sink like a rock without1 year ago Read more -
Blog postI told everyone last month that I'm leaving Colorado and moving to Texas...family is the only thing that could get me to pack up and leave the mountains. But, I'm happy to say, we are moving to the beautiful piney woods of East Texas.
A very big thank you to all my readers who have contacted me

Grace Sinclair is in trouble. When her adopted sister, Faith, is forced to defend her honor against an over-ardent saloon patron, she shoots him in self-defense. But who is going to believe four orphaned females living and working in a saloon are innocent of anything. Grace is convinced that the only chance of saving them all is to leave town in hopes the law will think her guilty and hold the other three girls harmless. A friend suggests a ruse of leaving town as a mail-order bride and that plan worked like a charm. Unfortunately for everyone concerned, the plan worked a little too well.
John Malone didn’t send for a mail-order bride, but somehow he found himself wed to one. Grace is a feisty city woman who showed up out of nowhere with a written marriage proposal signed by him. Now, one of Creede’s prominent attorneys is forcing him to keep a promise he didn’t make, and when his new bride is arrested for murder, he’s in jeopardy of losing his reputation and his ability to make an honest living. But when she arrives in the little mountain town of Angel Creek, her groom doesn't show to claim her. A promise made is a promise kept as far as she's concerned, and with no other options available, she decides to go after her elusive groom and hold him to his promises. But when she arrives at his cabin, what she finds is not at all what she expected, and now she has a decision to make.
Jack Delaney had ridden his last mile as the tough, hard-core scout for the U.S. Army. All he planned to do for the rest of his days was focus on the enjoyment of his new life of leisure in his newly purchased cabin tucked high in the mountains above Angel Creek. But when an unexpected visitor arrives at his front door on a snowy evening amidst an early winter storm, his world turns upside down and he's no longer sure which end is up.
Sometimes, it's hard to know when to let one dream go in favor of another. Sometimes, the best promise kept is the one left broken. And sometimes, the answers to a heart's questions can only be found when wishing on a very special Christmas star.
