I use this product in a Pelican 1560 case that is a toolbox for commercial airliner line maintenance. I had been concerned by some other reviews saying it lacked durability, but so far it’s been a champ for me. It was super quick and easy to install, and I have seen zero defects so far. If anything I would ask for more flexibility with the elastic bands in the top-right part, but that’s being picky.

If it handles a clutz like me and my skydrol-soaked tools, it’ll handle most tasks a reasonable person tosses at it.

Bought to use with the 1560 case, fits perfectly and attaches easily to the mounting points in the case with included screws. I had seen other people with lid organizers and didn't think I needed one until the moment I did. There are other, more popular pelican cases, that have 3rd party lid organizers but my particular model didn't have a lot of options so the official one was really the only place I could turn to. I wasn't really a fan of this one having elastic bands but over time I've found uses for them. the pouches are high quality and I haven't really had issues with the zippers so far, my biggest complaint and reason for taking away 1 star is the actual size of the pouches, they're big, too big, you can fit a great deal more than you probably should in them and there's really no good way to tighten them down to keep the items inside from sliding around. Some method of tightening them down would really enhance the functionality and maybe dividing the large bottom pouch into smaller pouches would keep things better organized instead of just one catch-all. The real kicker is that if you want to use the 1560 case and you need a lid organizer this is it, you're kinda stuck, but it does it's job and is easy to install. Would recommend because it works and it fits, would love to see a third party option though, or a pelican alternate, unlikely to happen as pelican seems to have moved on to their "Air" designs. Final word, if you need it, buy it.

This is a great product. Its screwed into the lid (screws provided) into the existing holes in the pelican case. You replace the foam that is in the lid with this. I think I would have preferred another pocket as opposed the the elastic band thingy on the right, but still not bad. The large pocket it too large for my needs, but I'll eventually find stuff that fits the elastics and the large pocket. Five stars because like all pelican, its built well and designed to fit the case. Not some after market thing that you have to modify or isn't quite right. The use of pockets is not pelicans fault. Plus I know I'll find the exact right stuff for it eventually.

The only thing to be cautious of, is that it removes some of the protection, since its taking the place of the foam on the top. So depending on how you plan to use the case you might not want this. For travel I'm planning on putting a piece of groundpad between the case and lid on the inside. The lid organizer content have to hold their own.

I wanted to take advantage of the space at the top of my Pelican 1560 so I picked this up. It is easy to attach it to the top of the case using the included screws. The pockets are not as large as I would have liked. Here are the contents of the pockets on my 1569 2 SD card cases, 10 Lens wipes, a multi-tool, two allen wrench tools, 2 Variable ND filters, and two 6 pocket filter pouches. Under the two elastic bands I have a screwdriver and a flashlight. May sound like quite a bit but I was expecting more. Overall I'm glad to have the extra space and if I had the option to purchase it again I would.

Had a tough time deciding between two stars and three stars. Why? The shapes of the "pouches" (best term?) limit functionality: there are just three and one is way too big, requiring that I further wrap or gather-in-a-bag small items to keep them apart and safe from shifting, rubbing. My Pelikan 1510's similar organizer offers many pouches. Inside the 1510 this allows me to open a pouch for a certain requirements during a shoot or gear set-up needs. Not here. Suggestion: the big hardware box store offers small zippered pouches in the Tools Section that I buy for such photographic purposes. These pouches, sometimes available in multiple colors, have mesh panels that allow a look inside while still zippered. Easier for the assistants!
In another design flaw the short screws supplied seem to have been well finished but they are mostly INSIDE the pouches, providing possible metal contact with soft vulnerable accessories. Also, don't over-tighten these screws in the soft Pelikan posts provided for mounting, as there's enough leverage in the threads to start pulling the lid material out of the mounting post. I avoided that but can feel that it could happen. As I read back over my comments it's harder to leave the star choice at three... On balance, better to have this in the case than the foam top, as the extra depth of this Pelikan allows bodies not to stand so high relative to the sides of the case, therefore more depth for the accessories to fit as the lid is closed. (The 1510 takes some careful packing for a a good fit of case-lid-stuff and gear in the bottom.)

Great addition to my 1560 case

My 1560 started out with the pick-in-pluck foam, but after a while I started to collect more things that I wanted to keep in the case, so I ditched the foam and got the padded dividers (much better). But I still had a number of smaller items still taking up precious space in my case. I've had my eye on this lid organizer for years, even longer than the padded dividers, and finally got around to ordering it. So far its been great and has freed up some much needed room for more lenses and another camera body. It seems well made and hopefully it will hold up for the lifetime of the case.

Attaches securely to lid. Do not over tighten screws. They will strip as they are screwing into small plastic posts that are in the case lid. Pouches are a little on the large size. Would be better with more pouches that were a bit smaller.
