My only regret with this purchase is that I didn't buy 2, so for now I am paddling solo.
I also picked up a Shoreline Rounded Blade Kayak Paddle (96-Inch) for less than $30 to go along with my new kayak.
The first thing I noticed was the hull is thinner and makes a different, more hallow sound than the others next to it. That scared me a little. I also read some reviews about the boat's tracking being less than standard and it scared me further because I live on the Intercoastal of South Florida.
You could see these being great on the lakes but certainly not an ocean kayak. The only thing I could foresee is if it was a very flat day with no wind. The intercoastal is a lot of fun on these but even the boat's wake bouncing off the walls gives you a good ride.
We go on the Florida rivers and springs as much as the intercoastal so I recommend for those types of activities. I dont know about fishing yet but if you got something big, youd prob go for a ride.
Pros: Maneuverability, Turn on a dime, Lightweight, Fun, Can drop in the intercoastal and bring some drinks and food and tie up or beach it somewhere
Cons: Smaller kayak, doesn't come with the bells and whistles, tracking is not that great but that only allows you to easily change course
Summary: Not every kayak is going to fill every need. These would have to be heavier for a good fishing kayak unless you put a little trolling motor on. Overall its a good little multi-purpose kayak that probably cant handle the big stuff.
