If you need CCW rotation:You would remove the 3 or 4 screws that hold the motor to the gear box. 2 of the screws go thru the bearing housing, you remove those leaving the shaft/rotor in place. Turn the motor coil around and reassemble. This is an aftermarket replacement motor.

Below are the instructions for properly reversing the direction of the motor.

Reversing rotation to Couter Clockwise Facing the Shaft:

A.) Hold auger motor in your hand with motor side facing you.

B.) Remove 2 silver screws holding the bearing cap.

C.) Remove bearing cap.

D.) Remove the silver bolt(s) holding the black magnet in place. (There may be one or two depending on production)

E.) Remove black magnet, flip it over, and place back onto motor. (Do not flip the shaft, only the black magnet)

F.) Reinstall silver bolt(s) on magnet.

G.) Reinstall bearing cap. Reinstall last two silver screws.

I'm still really dumbfounded as to the price and quality of these motors. I have an England's Stove Works 25-PDV with the PU-047040 auger motors. These replacement motors work perfectly. I did have to reverse the direction of the motors, but that was really very simple to do.

Thank you for this great product!

Based on another person's review of this motor, we purchased it. The reviewer had the same pellet stove as us (American Harvest from US Stove) and said that this motor worked well for him. We'd looked all over for an affordable replacement motor and couldn't find one. We'd purchased replacement motors from our stove manufacturer before, and they didn't last very long (and were $120). This motor is fabulous so far. We've had no troubles with it. It makes no noise that we can hear. It seems to be built at least as well as the expensive alternatives and is half the price! YAY!

As the other reviewer stated, it turns the wrong way for our stove, but it hasn't mattered because it only stirs the firepot; we're not using it as an auger motor. It comes with instructions on how to change the direction if you need to. And we also had to get a hole drilled in the shaft for the pin, which was no small thing. We tried a drill press--shaft was too hard. We had to take it to a machine shop where they used their toughest piece of equipment and were finally successful. Still worth it, though. Great motor!! Great price!!

I purchased this to replace the original motor on my Enviro Empress. It is ridiculously quieter than the manufacturer's motor. I continue to walk back to the stove to check that it is on because it is so quiet. I did not have to change the rotation direction and it simply fit.

A word of advice to folks is if you need to first test the motor you have, your Enviro Empress connects it via a simple set pin. Unscrew that a few turns and the motor will slide right out after you disconnect the two leads (plug on). Then use an old extension cord, with the female end cut off and the wires exposed to run power to the motor on or in a stable surface such as a vice. You will then be able to determine if the motor is actually good. If it is, then you likely have a different issue such as a loose bushing or a blocked auger.

It was harder getting my stove pipe off and back on then it was to deal with the motor.

5 stars for price alone. Englander was $130.00 plus $12.00 shipping. this unit has wire leads that are ready to connect to your wires. either wires are the correct ones when you connect them. the wires will not change rotation. you must remove the 4 screws that mount the coil. then turn coil over and reinstall screws. took a couple of minutes to change rotation. motor seems to be as quiet cost for this was $51.27, a substantial savings. shipping was 2 days via usps and free. might purchase a standby at that price

I saw the product, the company, I took a risk. This is one company that is worth that risk. Top notch. Product is high quality. Delivery was a few days from the order. Now my pellet stove silently drops pellets reliably. Fantastic experience.

I was very skeptical of these motors because the price was so low. Our Big Harman is about 7 years old and runs continuously for 7 months out of the year. We burn 12-14 tons of pellets a year. I immediately started having problems with the stove this year, with it shutting down after a few minutes or not starting at all. It is a two auger stove..one would work, the other would not and vice versa.. I tore the stove completely apart, replacing the pressure switch thinking this was my problem,. Got it all back together, same results.. then I noticed something. If I only filled the hopper with a few pellets. it worked okay. So, I figure the auger motors just didn't have the power anymore to turn the auger with a full load. I took a chance and ordered two of these motors. Wouldn't you know it, they turned the wrong way but it only took a few minutes to remove the four screws and flip the motor over, reversing the direction of spin. CAUTION...and I did this...make sure when you flip the motor over that you carefully slide the bushing back over the shaft and screw the screws down a corner at a time, like putting an a tire, so you don't get the bushing on offset. Needless to say, we are back in business, it is 11 below zero outside right now and the house is toasty. We run two stoves in a large home in Maine, our only heat source. BUY THESE MOTORS. They are even more powerful than the original, .51 amp vs. .4 amp.

If you are fixing your pellet stove yourself, do your homework and order the right parts. This motor is awesome. It's more heavy duty than the original manufacturer's part (the AC motor is much bigger) and it costs half the price!? This was an exact fit for a Whitfield Advantage-2 pellet stove, the auger motor needed to be 1 RPM, 120 volts, and spinning clockwise. If you order a motor with the wrong speed, wrong size, wrong application, etc, it's your fault and writing a negative review is silly. If you're in doubt on what to order just google your pellet stove model and look at the specs your appliance needs. Or take the original motor off and read the labels on it. The RPM and volts are written right on it!
