In Penance and Promises, we get POVs from Jackson, Ana, Braiden and Cara. Just when Ana and Jackson think they've escaped their past and then Braiden showed up. He seems to have changed and put the past behind him as well; ready to move forward and start fresh with Cara. However, is the past really behind them?
I was on the edge of my seat with this novella and at one point I had to hold my breath because I was terrified for these characters I had grown to love. I couldn't put this book down from the moment I started it until I finished it. While I hate to say goodbye to these characters and would love to read more about them in the future, LA Cotton did an amazing job wrapping up their stories!!
Penance and Promises starts up right where Redemption and Regrets left off. Ana and Jackson have started their new life and family. Jackson forgave Braiden for the past and was hoping to keep Braidens past from coming back to haunt them...
Unfortunately Braiden has almost as many enemies as his father had and the past catches up with him. Will Braiden be able to keep Ana, Jackson, and Cara safe or will everything blow up in his face?
This book was a great conclusion for the Chastity Falls Series! Ana has never liked Braiden and will probably never be able to trust him, but who could blame her after everything Braiden had put her through. However, Ana really likes Cara who is dating Braiden. Jackson is right there for Ana throughout the pregnancy. Once things start going south and threats are received, he tries to keep everything from Ana as he does not want to worry her. Little does he know, but it actually makes her worry more since she knows something is up and everyone around her is lying to her.
There are two love stories which are completed with a fairy tale ending. Cara and Jackson are both safe and more in love after the death scare. Ana and Jackson are also safe and just welcomed their little one into the world. On top of that, there might be hope for Braiden and Ana's friendship as it seems Ana respects him more for getting Jackson back to her and the baby. And they all lived Happily Ever After ...
Seven years ago, Ana Parry walked into Chastity Falls Academy and changed the lives of Jackson Pierce and Braiden Donohue. Her arrival set into motion a series of events that none of them could have ever predicted.
But they got out.
Escaping Chastity Falls, they left behind a life built on lies and secrets, danger and fear.
… Didn’t they?
I loved this series and I loved L.A Cotton's delivery of this exciting, thrilling and beautiful finale
Braiden and Cara, Jackson and Ana now living lives away from the mafia involvement their families had been ia part of but when an old enemy comes knocking, wanting and eye for an eye, Jackson and Braiden do what they can to keep their girls safe.
I loved that Dennis was in this and I'm hoping, fingers crossed for a Dennis and Cassie book.
Brilliant series, I've been on a roller coaster ride with these characters the whole plot throughout leading from one book to the other is well written, I really enjoyed the angst, suspense, the characters and couldn't of asked for a better ending to it all.
This book is told from each persons pov and I loved that.
I would recommend the chastity falls series, what I thought at first was a college romance turned out to be so much more and I loved the journey.
