Penelope Anne Cole writes and reviews children's books. She has taught and tutored at all levels: elementary, middle school, high school, and community college. She is passionate about reading to children to encourage them to read on their own and love literature. She loves to make school visits in person and on Skype.
Ms. Cole lives in Santa Clara, California, with her family and their rescued cats and dogs. She enjoys walking her dog, reading, writing, gardening, church activities, singing in choir, cooking, and sharing time with family and friends.
Although Ms. Cole has written throughout her life, "Magical Matthew" is her first published children's book. It celebrates the magic of childhood and the milestone of 'double digits.' The early chapter Magical series will be published in Spanish. Most of Ms. Cole's books will be in Spanish, except the rhyming ones, "In and Out, All 'Round About - Opposite Friends" and "My Grandma's Pink House."

"Magical Mea Goes to School," third magical book, won a 2015 Creative Child Preferred Choice Award.
"Magical Max and Magical Mickey," fourth magical book won a 2016 Book of the Year Award from Creative Child Magazine.

"Ten Little Tricksters," her Halloween reverse counting book, won a 2015 Gold Medal from Children's Literary Classics, a 2015 Book of the Year Award from Creative Child Magazine, and a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award from NABE, (For Pre-K, Kinder, and 1st grade.)
"What's for Dinner?" for ages 5-8, won a 2016 Seal of Excellence and is a Finalist in the Children's Literary Classics Award program.

Ms. Cole has a B.A. in Liberal Arts, English Lit major; an M.A. in Education, and a California Teaching Credential. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, a member of the Fremont Area Writers, and South Bay Writers of the California Writers Club.
