I ordered this cage so I could travel with my sugar glider. It was finely smaller than what I expected, but it actually has worked out really nicely. I don't think you could put a bird in here at all. My sugar glider is only the size of my hand (tip of middle finger to wrist) which is about 6.5in, and she doesn't have much room in there too do anything but curl up and sleep, which is fine because that's all I need it for since she shows the majority of the day in my pocket. I would say the quality of the cage definitely matches the price, it's nothing fancy. The assembly for it was super simple. Overall, I was satisfied with this product, considering how much I paid for it.

Item is as described. Assembly of the item involves snapping the pieces together.

Mine fit together snugly, but you do have to pay close attention to how you align the plastic end pieces with the edges of the wire cage part to get a precise fit. But then that's what keeps the cage secure. I think this may be what caused some of the issues others had with this carrier.

It's a perfect size for a short time to transport 1-3 finches, a canary, or a parakeet.
Transportation for maybe an even a longer time if you can provide food and water in containers that won't spill.

This is a decent travel cage for small pets. I bought it for my two parakeets. It isn't good for them to travel while perched so I took out the two perches. I paper towel fits well into the bottom and it is sturdy enough for a short trips to the vet. The cage opening is a little small so I just use the sides instead.

The door to this product is QUITE small, so using it for a bird is a challenge. It's much better suited for small mammals such as mice, hamsters, gerbils, etc. The door is not particularly stable, you might want to take a pliers and gently close the hinges so that it does not come off the carrier when opening and closing.

I love it and My favorite color! I will order more!!! It is the perfect size for transporting birds, gerbils, baby chicks and other pets. Currently I have 3 baby lovebirds I am weaning off of being hand fed and they are starting to eat on their own. The cage is strong durable and well made. The wire gage is thick and not flimsy at all. I love the fact that it has a handle so it is easy to transport and carry around. pets are visible all the way around and cage can be easily cleaned with soap and water. Cage door locks and it has a bonus stick for perching. All in all great product for a great deal!

Parakeets lives saved!!

This travel cage just saved our parakeets lives! The kids had the birds on the floor next to them after they finished their school work. One 35 lb child fell directly on top of the cage, and all that happened was that the plastic base cracked. The birds are totally fine! Our kid, however, did get bitten by one shaken parakeet afterwards. Sturdy product!! Highly recommend!

It works, but it's very small

We have a lovebird that we like to bring to friends houses and such. We wanted a simple carrier for bringing in the car. This carrier works okay, but it's extremely small. He doesn't like going in it (he tries to crawl out while we're closing it). While he's in it, the top of the cage is too low so he has to stoop uncomfortably. He seems really nervous the whole time.

I would recommend you get the "medium" cage even if you have a really small bird like a parakeet, for their comfort.

Great for parrotlets or smaller

This is a perfect size for a parrotlet to travel with, so naturally this is good for similar sized birds and smaller (budgies, parakeets, finches, etc). The largest bird that could fit in here would be a cockatiel, but it would be snug with their longer tails. I personally do not use the perches inside which allows for more room.

Set up was easy - it's plastic and all you have to do is slide each side of the bars into the grooves. Overall, it's pretty sturdy for the price, and it's especially cheaper than store bought price.
