This is a mock Amish book. For shame.
This is a continuation of the story about Holly and her mother. Holly's mom was raised Amish and left during her rumspringa. Her Amish born husband was killed during the Vietnam war but she stayed in Seattle and raised their only daughter Holly. When Holly is close to 30 y/o, her mom returns to PA and Holly is angry about never knowing her extended family or roots. This books picks up after Holly and her mom decide to stay in Lancaster, PA. Holly grows to love her new found relatives. Holly has mellowed in this book but I still had a hard time connecting with the story and characters. I am not sure I will be reading the third book.
continuation from her 1st bk., Leaving Lancaster. I must admit I was in abit suspense with story & characters. I couldn't figure out how it was going to end & I was caught off guard totally. This was another great Amish book to read. I don't want to get into the actual story itself, but would heartily recommend buying both these books. I finished both of them in 24 hrs. as I couldn't put them down. I will also purchase book, A Portrait of Marguerite even though its not Amish, but I have to think that will be another great book by Kate Lloyd. A great Author I must say. Will stay on top of all her future books that come out. Well worth the read as both books were great reading material......good job Kate.......
This book explores the characters feelings and insecurities. I found the book interesting and inspirational.
A lot of things were revealed in this second book. Mother and daughter both find love and a cure for the main thing ailing Grandmother. Can't wait to read book three!
