Egby's characters are developed along with a moving plot. Both characters and story come together in front of the historical backdrop of Cypriot independence. The place descriptions and portrayal of the political climate in Cyprus and the U.K. are all very believable and probably based on personal experience. The story is filled with mystery and suspense making the reader want to discover the outcome of each sub plot. The author provides a satisfying epilogue to keep the readers from wondering about what happened to each of the characters years after the story takes place.
This book deserves the strong rating because it was painstakingly researched and the plot moves along well with the history. The book's cover doesn't do justice to the strong romantic theme that readers are sure to enjoy. There is the odd typo and formatting error common among first time self-published authors, but not enough to distract the reader from appreciating the story. I look forward to reading other novels from this author.
