This filter has been installed for 1 month. I changed it today and it definitely is catching more sediment than the GE filter I've been using for the last 8 years. It looks like I'll have to change this one once a month instead of once every 1.5 months because it's catching more of the sediment. That's a good thing! I love this new filter.

My well water has a lot of clay. The 2.5" filters plugged too frequently, so I replaced the unit with a 10" x 4" filter housing using this product. It works very well. Lasts several months with minimal pressure drop. I think the two stage (50 -> 5 micron) feature helps a lot.

Amazon has the best price around for these filters. Living in Maryland, we have high iron and sediment problems. Purchased this filter for our big blue 10" Culligan water treatment system and love it. Water pressure started getting low so we opened up the tank to check and sure enough, about an 1inch of sediment has built up. Just placed our second order for this item.

Both these filters, 2501 & 5005 are the best, I use them together in portable hand-pump units out in the bush in Central America, South Sudan and Liberia, where drinking water is detestable and deadly. These filter cartridges from Pentek literally save lives in these countries and locals are now building the 'CampWaterIndustry' portable water filtration units themselves.

This filter works super with my whole house filter system that I just recently purchased. It was easy to install into my house system. It removes sediments from the water efficiently and effectively.

I replaced my well pump and had to put in a new filter as the replacement brought up a great deal of red clay into my water from disturbing the well and this filter has done an excellent job. Have had the filter in place for 2 months now.

Been using this as a whole hose filter. paper filters collapsed (many times) sending junk through water lines this is far superior
