Comfort/Fit - (Win goes to PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds)
These fit amazing. They are very snug and I have no fear of them falling out. With my Airpods, I had to purchase additional silicon cover so that the Airpods wouldn't fall out when I run. I also use the Airpods when I mow the lawn, wearing them underneath my hearing protection (ear muffs). The Airpods would occasionally fall out and the long design of the Airpods would always hit the inside of the earmuffs. However with the PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds - the fit amazing - with or without the earmuffs. This might seem like an odd description - but much of my time using wireless headphones is listening to audiobooks while I mow, or music while I run. So I need them to work. The Airpods are frustrating while I mow and a the PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds are a joy.
Sound Quality - (Tie)
Both of the headphones sounded very clear. Sound quality was perfect on both. The bass was great on both. The PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds had crisper highs. They were almost so crisp that when I compared them to the Airpods - they felt a little harsh. This is not a negative - as its probably more of a preference thing. Some people may prefer the crisp highs. Also - you can easily adjust with EQ on an iPhone.
Background Noise - (Win goes to PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds)
Because of the fit - I heard less outside noise from the PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds than I did with the Airpods. This again could be a pro or a con. I imagine there are some situations where you may want to hear what's going on around you. While other times you don't.
Battery Life - (Tie?)
I honestly haven't used them long enough to get a good feel for how the battery life compares to AirPods. I know the Airpods last me the entire day with my use (which I would say is heavy) - with frequent recharges happening simply because I put them back in the case which recharges them when I'm not using them. According to the manual - the PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds have 18 hour playback. That would be plenty! So I don't think battery life is an issue for either headphones.
Call Quality - (Win goes to Airpods)
So the interesting thing for me was with the PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds I could not hear my own voice while I talked in the headphones. The person I am talking says you can hear me very clearly - but its a bit odd not hearing your own voice amplified through the headphones. This might be something I just need to get used to. With the Apple Airpods I can hear my own voice.
Case - (Win goes to Apple Airpods)
The Airpods case is super slim and something I just keep in my front pocket all day long. The PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds case is still pretty slim, but slightly bulkier than the Apple Airpods case. Not a big deal - but just wanted to point that out.
Price - (Win goes to PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds)
Okay - so no comparison here. The PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds are around 1/3 of the price of the Apple Airpods. Huge win here.
Overall - I can only think of one negative with the PeohZarr Wireless Earbuds. The fact that I can't hear my own voice during phone calls. (Unless there is a setting I'm missing that will fix that). Other than that - there's almost no reason why you shouldn't buy these instead of the Apple Airpods.
My previous wireless headset was a mpow jaws necklace type. It’s a few years old, and has aged pretty well. I’ll be comparing against it as well as a few other headsets that I own.
I really liked that the box didn’t require any other tools to open and it just slides, also that the battery came 75% charged. This means that the battery was charged recently and is relatively healthy. Some companies ship near-dead batteries (That they didn’t charge for months/years) and they won’t hold anywhere near as long of a charge if they’re allowed to die like that.
PRICE: The price is $10-ish (And there is a cupon which will lower it by 15% right now) less than the competition in the same domain, and $160 less than Apple Airpods. Definitely a winner in this domain.
USE CASE: This headset is a mobile type of headset, which means that it is best used for traveling relatively short distances < 4 hours unless you want to have a break to charge them (Probably not the best choice for a 14 hour flight to Japan). I do carpentry as a hobby and spend time using loud power tools which are… unforgiving… shall we say (Table Saw I’m looking at you) to physical wires. This headset is a wonderful option for noise cancellation instead of opting for a full over-ear muff. I also appreciate the locking feature these earbuds have to avoid them falling out while on a jog, on a bike, or anywhere near the table saw while it’s on.
Wow this headset is amazing at bass! (Which is the foundation of a lot of tracks)
Before we go any further though, I’ll reference my tracklist below constantly. All of these tracks are on Youtube and can be listened to just by searching for their title.
Looking at my tracklist below, Searching for Some Peace of Mind and Endeavor give the amazing atmospheric bass that they’re supposed to, and much to my surprise Lord of the Deep actually sounds amazing (Right after it picks up, about 30 seconds in).
I actually had to remind myself that I wasn’t wearing a whole-head earmuff style headset at certain points, especially while listening to Lord of the Deep.
The headset hits it’s limits with Heavy Rain by Turbo Knight & Yoru (夜) though. Much to it’s credit, there is no static or crackling whatsoever, however it just doesn’t sound quite like how it does on the subwoofer. But it’s a subwoofer that’s like… at minimum 10x the size of the headset. The opening to Lord of the Deep before the guitar pickup has a similar issue. Despite not dropping the bass as hard as a subwoofer, these tracks still sound great!
It Can’t Rain All the Time & Vigil (About Half Way in where the midrange segment starts) sound pretty good, but you can tell that the headset is oriented more towards the bass end because the bass sounds amazing, with the midrange being a bit further behind in quality.
It’s a Good Day to Be Alive, Holy Land, and the flute (which is really high pitch audio) on Low Gravity Judo sound like how they should. Some audio drivers tend to have a high amount of static towards the higher end of the audio spectrum, but I haven’t observed this on any of the higher range audio tracks that I have.
For an in-ear headset, it’s nothing short of amazing if you ask me, especially coming from the mpow jaws one that’s a few years old. That doesn’t have anywhere near the bass kick, or the audio range that this one does.
Comparison Tracks (Track 1 Genre / Track 2 Genre / Track 3 Genre / …):
Bass (Ambient Electronica / Malaysian Future Funk / Synthwave / Synthwave):
Stellardrone (Echoes) - Endeavour
Fi7i – Searching for Some Peace of Mind
Turbo Knight & Yoru (夜) – Heavy Rain

Midrange (Synthwave / Synthwave / Ambient Electronica / Electronic / Ambient Electronic):
Andy Shand – Space-Station Melody
Jeremiah Kane – It Can’t Rain All the Time!
Mass Effect OST – Vigil
Skye Wolff – Galaxy; Omega
DARKEST – ACCEPTANCE
Higher Range (Electronic / Pop / Synthwave / Electronic):
Skye Wolff - Startrails
Epic Pop – It’s a Good Day to Be Alive
Patternshift – Low Gravity Judo (This track has a lot of bass, but has some VERY high notes on a (flute?))
Mega Man Zero OST – Holy Land
For the User:
Like all audio systems, these speakers do some things really well, and others less well. For the best listening experience, I would recommend using an equalizer in whatever audio application you use for the best audio experience.
For the Manufacturer:
- I would probably opt for a stronger magnet in the case. I’m aware that the case is made to be as smooth as possible and minimize the number of “grab points” that other things can touch to open it, say while it’s in a bag, but I think it should probably be a bit stronger to ensure that it stays closed.
- I would make it easier to differentiate between the Left and Right earbuds. Maybe adding a mark that is easy to see somewhere (I’m aware that when paired it tells you which earbud is which, and that there is a L/R mark on each earbud, but these marks are hard to see for me)
-More of a personal thing, but the red interior of the earbud (When you look directly into the center of the audio ring) isn’t really my color. I would probably go with something more neutral, like a grey or white.
-I would probably update some of the marketing pictures. Some of the competition has some cooler-looking slides.
-Adding a volume control button combo on the left earbud is probably more preferable than the mono playback hardware options in my opinion.
