I first met Kevin when I was living in Massachusetts as we shared a couple of interests...we both love dogs, I'm a huge Bruins fan and Kevin is the local sportscaster covering the Bs...a great start to a friendship. I know Kevin, he is a friend and a very honest family man with a lovely wife and two beautiful daughters...all of this comes out in his ability to capture family interactions, family history, humor, sensitive...all wrapped up in a fishing trip to upstate NY.
From a fishing perspective, Kevin's ability to describe and capture the essence of fly casting makes you feel as if you are standing in the river next to him...
From a family relationship perspective, Kevin takes you back to time when kids could be kids. Back when you were out all day enjoying the outdoors pre-electronic games and constant sheltering that kids now days are faced with. The way that he weaves the past with the present to describe the dynamics he has with his brothers is funny, yet very touching at the same time. After reading the book you will want to reconnect with your siblings and family members.
Kevin proves that siblings can be more than family...they can be friends and openly share thoughts and feelings.
If you are looking for a great story that will last through the ages, I very highly recommend reading The Perfect Catch.
Well done Kevin!
