Loved this story line and concept. This is book 2 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. We originally met Joe and Eleni in book 1. This book actually had scenes that crossed over from book 1 so we got to see it from both sisters pov in some spots.
Joe (Tony & Garth) is a casino owner who hides his identity from every one except for a select few. He is afraid that he will never find his one true love that will love him for himself and not just the money he has in the bank. Dressed as a down and out drifter he meets the woman of his dreams. Eleni. She is beautiful, smart, giving and everything that he has ever wanted in a lifetime lover, wife and friend. When Eleni hops into a cab and leaves he is devastated that he didn't get her full name and he is determined to find her, one way or another. Fate has a way of making things happen.
Elenie is an event/party planner looking for her big break. Little does she know it is going to drop into her lap. Elenie meets Joe as he is sitting on a park bench. There is just something about him that draws her to him. She can't seem to keep Joe off her mind. Again, fate has a way of playing with hearts and emotions.
This book takes you on the emotional ride of Joe and Elenie. Written as a multi pov. I could have used a wee bit more of Joe's pov, but all in all a great story. Needed a bit more editing. The beta reader in me caught a few things that made me pause, but I was able to get back into the story rather quickly.
The story line was well written, the characters were easy to become attached to and the descriptions to details were done nicely. This was a sweet read with hints as to what happened in the bedroom but no graphic details.
All in all, a solid read that I really enjoyed!
Would I recommend this book? Yes!

Sassy Beta Reading & Review
Review by Georgianna Simpson
The Perfect Choice (Book 2 of Holiday Magic series) is Eleni and Joe’s story. I had the privilege of reviewing Holiday Magic (Georgia and Mark’s story) and totally fell in love with the characters and everything in the story.
Susanne Matthews has written another wonderful love story and I can’t even tell you how compelling it was…well…I couldn’t put it down, so was up til the wee hours of the morning; maybe that gives you some idea!
Eleni is a great character, lovely and very intelligent, she wants to be successful with her designs and wants other to see she’s not just another pretty face that can plan a party. Her imaginative designs for events go beyond the norm. She is given an opportunity by the Dean of Moore College of Arts and Design, the college to which she was an alumna, to design an original Halloween Charity Event for the Ocean Front Casino.
She had just taken her drawings of her ideas to the dean and was on her way home when she met Joe, who was listening to a street jazz musician (one of her personal favorites). He was wearing an old rock-tee and torn jeans, really pretty scruffy looking and she thought he was a down and out young man. Being Eleni (friendly and open) she showed him where he could get a free/cheap meal (this is more involved, but I don’t want to spoil your reading experience). The attraction was mutual on both their parts and quite unusual!
So, of course Joe turns out to b Garth Joe Smits Simmons, the owner of the Ocean Front Casino and so much more…he’s actually umber rich (the part of the story is interesting as well). He doesn’t get a chance to learn her whole name only that her sister is named Georgia and owns a jewelry design store in New York. In the meantime, he sees her designs scanned and sent to him by the dean and falls in love with the ideas and sends a contract for E. Baxter to the dean. Meanwhile he intends to hunt for the lovely blonde he just met. So imagine his surprise when he looks up E. Baxter in the college database and finds Eleni!
That’s the setup; I’m not going to get into the complications of this fantastic relationship. That would just give too much away. Just let me tell you this is a very well written and unusual love story. The timeline runs parallel with Holiday Magic, and we get to see some of what happened with Georgia from another point of view.
The Perfect Choice is a fast-paced, intelligent and incredibly fun read and well titled. I absolutely hated for it to end, but I did need to go to bed…ah, sleep is over rated anyway! I so look forward to more fun, thrilling stories from Suzanne Matthews. Enjoy everyone, I did!
