What I liked about Scott’s story was that it felt very natural. Scott doesn’t do commitment for his own reasons and while he stuck by that for a while he still couldn’t get Carrie out of his head, so they kept hanging out. The funny thing to me was that Scott still felt like he wasn’t committing when it was clear as day that he was. But anyway, the story is not without its ups and downs and roadblocks for the maybe happy pair. But throughout it all Carrie and Scott were a hoot and a half. I really loved their chemistry and their back and forth biting banter and bickering. They sure could keep each other on their toes. But they were sweet too. One of my favorite scenes was when Scott and Carrie were out at their first dinner and the waitress makes some kind of comment about Carrie getting a healthier dinner, and boy did she put her in her place. And Scott totally backed her up and then Carrie thanked him for having her back.Read more ›
Right from the start, Scott and Carrie's chemistry leaps from the pages in the book. You feel it. Their connection and relationship builds throughout the season as does your affinity for the couple. I truly enjoyed reading their story. It felt like everyone underestimated these two characters. No one expects too much from them - be pretty. Do your job. Know your place on the team.
Except neither one wants to accept their position. They both want more and their journey to finding their happily ever after is a bit of a roller coaster ride. But what I had not expected was how the two supported one another. When one had an insecurity or a perceived flaw - the other stepped up and gave more of themselves to be what the other needs. They push each other to be better.
Perfect Game is an awesome book. This couple will steal your smiles and ultimately your heart. They are sneaky about it too - you don't know it's gone until it's very much theirs. I loved Scott and Carrie - you should take the time to meet them. You will become a fan, too.
It's one of those love stories where you truly believe that you can win over the hot Major League man of your dreams and where even the farthest of things seem reachable!
Author Collette West writes a compelling and invigorating tale of two imperfect individuals who battle against the odds set before them.
Scott Harper is our badboy first baseman who's earned a bad reputation and needs to clean up his act.
Carrie McKenzie is the Kings' new reporter with a dilemma on her hands. She is attracted to Scott and is sympathetic to his plight, and yet, she is the one assigned to cover his heinous scandal.
What will become of this couple?
How will they confront their own personal demons while taking on the public?...To save Scott's sports career and image?
And can Carrie really trust this man who's rough around the edges but is a heart of gold underneath that rugged facade?
Read and you will find out!
#Loved Scott and Carrie!!♥♡
I love the New York Kings. I am a certified Brooks fan but Scott will surely make Brooks a run for his money in my heart. Hot, romantic and definitely a top notch book boyfriend.
Scott was pretty aggressive for me and surprisingly, I love it! He's very determined and when he set his promise to Carrie, he makes it so hot I feel it from the pages of the book. Another hot addition to my New York Kings book boyfriends, Scott had captured my heart.
Praises are not enough to how Collette West knows her men and how their lives connect book by book. She continues to amaze me every time she releases another after another. I might cry when this series ends.
Dear Collette, can you put in rookies so we'll never run out for books in this series? winks*
