Getting to find out how the world, Aloy, Vienne, and Griffin ended up was satisfying. I think the author did a good job letting us know how all the characters fared, not a single one can I think of major or minor, was left out.
I had introduced several friends and my husband to the series and none could stop at the first book. During our book club (they only had to read the first book but all finished the series) the overall consensus Two Thumbs Up. All of us look forward to what Rori Shay has for us next.
The first third of the last book in the series, seemed like a hopeless war, until things took a surprising turn when Aloy finds out who is really bombing Mid. I won't tell any more because it would spoil the surprises, only to say the ending was very satisfying and worth reading the two previous books to finally get to.
This is a very thought-provoking series. We could very easily end up where this series begins, and hopefully the young people the book is aimed at will take heed. I found the pendants with the rhyme telling the people how to help themselves when they'd finally come together, to be a nice touch. Very clever story telling. I found that most of the characters were developed and their motivations easily understood. Aloy, being the main character was a girl of great courage, but also full of very human doubts. She grows up nicely and ends up making the hard choices, and the right choices. This is the kind of role model you'd want for your daughters and sons too. An excellent series all around.
