Product Description

The quality of an eraser and using the correct eraser are crucial for optimum results. Basically, two different materials are used to make erasers: rubber and plastic. All rubber erasers and the majority of the plastic erasers made by Faber-Castell are PVC-free. Faber-Castell PVC-Free erasers do not contain harmful phthalate plasticizer. Phthalates have been reported to cause several undesirable effects when exposed to the human body. The balanced plastic mixture guarantees soft and smear-free erasing. This eraser pencil is compact and easy to use, just like a normal pencil but with an eraser tip for rubbing out.

It works!
I wanted to shorten the leaf, because it went past the edge of the paper. Here is the before and after. I learned about this pencil from another artist to erase colored pencils marks. It really works to erase small detailed areas in colored pencil, and then rework it with the new color. I was able to completely erase an area, and then correct it with more colored pencil. I’m happy! It’s my new best friend.

    I do Chip Carving as a hobby/craft. I buy project kits with patterns already ltransferred to the wood with a heat tool from laser prints. Sometimes the pattern has glitches or shifts in some detail. This harder eraser material can erase the ink with patience, and the pencil form enables me to correct details without messing up nearby lines. The brush on the end is just right to remove the residue. I am very pleased with this purchase. 👍

    If you enjoy coloring in adult coloring books, This eraser is a must. I have used it to remove colored pencil, gel pen, & even marker as long as I erased it right away. This won't erase markers that bleed through the paper such as Sharpie markers. I have erased Stabilo Fine Liner markers though I had to do it immediately & very gently. This eraser is not meant for large areas. It is great for when you go out of the lines or change your mind on the color of the center of a flower. I have used it in areas as large as a nickel around. You need to be gentle and pay attention to the paper. If the paper is too thin, you could tear it. I have used it in coloring books with thinner paper. As long as I was gentle, it was fine. I couldn't always get all the color out if it was a dark pen. But, colored pencils have come out completely or if I was erasing a dark color from a nickel size area, enough came out so that I could use another color over the area I had erased and it looked just fine. It works fantastic in small areas because you sharpen it just like you sharpen a pencil, just not to such a fine point. It lasts a long time. So, even though it may seem expensive, it can make all the difference in how you view your art work. I love using gel pens. This is the only eraser I've found that erases gel pens when I have occasionally gone out of the line. I rely on the reviews of others when I am considering making an online purchase. If you enjoy coloring in adult coloring books, you have to add this to your supplies. You won't be sorry.

    It's a pencil. That erases, and with the point and not with the back end. For some reason that amuses me, and it's the main reason I bought it.

    ANYWAY, it works fine. I've used it on colored pencil and it does a pretty good job, but I haven't gotten it to completely get rid it, which I didn't expect to. It gets it light enough that I can cover it up, anyway. I've tried it on Indian Ink and Higgins Black Magic, and again it didn't completely get rid of it but it made it less noticeable. Works great with regular led pencils. Someday I plan to try it on watercolor, because why not?
    The brush on the other end is cute and I've actually caught myself using it.
    So it's not a miracle eraser but it works well enough and is able to get rid of material that regular erasers can't manage. I like that it's small so I can get small areas with it - I haven't been able to sharpen it to a fine point using my metal handheld sharpeners, and I'm not sure if an electric one would do better. I might try sanding it down with sandpaper if I need to get it that sharp.

    I am in awe of this eraser!!!! I got it yesterday and last night I was coloring away and looked down and had one of those "oh no" moments, I had accidentally colored some of the wrong part with the blue pencil I was using!!! I looked at it and was thinking of how I was going to fix that nice little surprise and remembered that my eraser had arrived that day. I used it and I was truly surprised at what an EXCELLENT job it did it removing the blue! It left only a faint hint of color and today I looked at the area again and I honestly could not tell where in the world I had colored or erased! I have bought at least 6-7 different erasers including one by the 'best' and they are nothing compared to this! I cannot recommend this high enough, it is awesome! The brush part is designed well also, the bristles are perfect - not too soft or too hard. I just can not believe how well this eraser works, I will be buying more!

    For a long time I have been looking for a good eraser/brush combination to use when drawing with colored pencils. I have Staedtler Plastic erasers, a standard in the industry and a good choice. But that eraser leaves little pieces that have to be removed. And also the "Design" kneaded rubber eraser is a standard in the industry. Yet it also sometimes leaves little pieces that have to be somehow removed from the art surface.

    In the past, the type of brushes that have been available for this purpose have been big and bulky. I feel almost like I am using a wisk broom when brushing off excess pieces of eraser dust. But then, I saw the Faber-Castell Perfection Eraser Pencil with Brush. And I said, "Ahhhhhh! That eraser is really what I am looking for to deal with these pesky little bits and hopefully the eraser is good as well." Well, the eraser IS GOOD! It is more than good, it is great! The eraser is a bit of a rough eraser which is actually good when using colored pencil. It gets the smallest traces of color off the artwork. And it does not hurt the generally 300 - 500 grams per square cm paper that I am usually using. Of course if I try to hurt the paper it is possible, but in normal use, it does not mar the paper surface.

    Then, the nice, little conveniently attached brush on the other end of the pencil eraser is the ultimate combination. It is small, light and effective in removing that excess eraser bits and dust. This product truly earns its 5 star rating. No artist should be without this item. You will be pleased with it from the first try.

    Maybe just my novice use of it, but this pencil eraser is gritty and will spread colored pencil pigment before picking it up if you’re not careful. The concept of the brush is good, but the execution is not. The brush is thin and soft which is great for the page/art, but awful for the debris created by the eraser. It takes many rough brushes and even some stabs with the bristles just to move debris off the page. Maybe I need to use it sharper, who knows. Mono zero is just better

    It looks good, is coloured and designed differently to other pencils so is instantly locatable. It has a good sized effective brush on the end and it works! Works brilliantly with coloured pencil and dried watercolour - used with care - and the point, being capable of sharpening or shaping, allows that. Especially useful for non-activated watercolour pencil drawings. It’s also very affordable for what it is. Ideal in combination with the soft FC putty rubber which can also help pick up the eraser debris, rather than use the brush, to avoid contamination elsewhere on the paper.
