But it all began with not sharing truths. Mikaela wrestles with the notion that actions are supposed to speak louder than words, when she doubts Sam, the man she grows to respect and possibly love.
But soon she discovers that she too has brought her emotional baggage into the relationship and she needs to change and not treat her lover as she'd been treated in the past.
All of these everyday truths we speak to ourselves and others are played out in Perfectly Honest. Who in our world is truly perfectly honest in our speech but perhaps like Mikaela and Sam we show our honesty in our deeds and love, but someone just has to notice.
Perfectly Honest is a great romance that had this reader thinking about the spiralling effects of those little lies we think that couldn't possibly hurt anyone. But we can never know for sure.
The chemistry between the lovers was well crafted, along with the ups and downs of their developing relationship (poor communication led to problems - a mistake we all make).
I plan to read it again, and will definitely buy another in the series.
The story gives an interesting look into the lives, concerns, and clash of two doctors thrown together by very unusual circumstances. The hero and heroine learn to overcome their issues, foibles, and learned responses to ultimately make a commitment. Throughout the story the characters continue to develop depth and believability. The author has a grasp of dialogue that enhances the characters’ individuality. This is a modern romance for those who love medical stories or just plain love stories. If you start to read this, plan your time wisely as you will not be able to put it down.
This is a perfectly fun romance between two doctors who are all about their work and have always given love the short shift. In fact, I would go so far as to say they both ran from love like the plague and being ‘perfectly honest’ (Name of book) is the last thing either of these two could do.
Having inadvertently chased off Sam’s ‘fiancée’, Mikaela agrees to play the role of the handsome fellow’s fiancée after he explains the hospital want a stable doctor, not a playboy.
Sparks fly from the very first. Without a doubt these two are extremely attracted to one another, however, he’s a playboy and she’s been burned in the past. Upon discovering Mikaela is an OBG, the hospital offers a job to both of them. Sam’s not happy that his arm candy is the reason why he’s being offered a job at all. But he gets over it, and they decide to keep their fake engagement for a year then they’ll breakup, so both can take the jobs offered.
It’s very hard to build love on a foundation of lies, especially when neither of the pair will be honest about their feelings. So you’ll need to put a seat belt on because you are in for a long and crazy ride.
I enjoyed this book immensely. Thoroughly entertaining.
