I love a good second chance love story and Perfectly Imperfect didn't disappoint. It seems like everyone knew Farah and Chris were the perfect match but Farah. I was kind of leery when it came to Chris and his actions. ***Possible spoiler*** I loved that he made the first move but then had had to go and screw it up when she showed up at (---) because (---) and he said (---). He did redeem himself, but I think there should have been a little more begging and pleading on his part.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable read that I would recommend to anyone looking for a second chance love story. It is book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC.
She would be happy to never see him again, even though the only reason they broke up was the vast distance between them after high school ended. However, he’s everywhere she turns in their small town, including her photography class. And when it turns out they’re both in Cassie and Ryan’s bridal party, they’re thrust together, for what seems like forever. Can they sort out their differences for their best friends special day? Will they come together and salvage their friendship? Or at the end of the summer, will Farah leave a piece of her heart back in Boston?
This was a nice, lighthearted romance and a very easy read. The characters sounded a little young at times for my taste, but I suppose that’s college freshman for you! The storyline was believable, Farah likable, and her growth in this book was better than I expected. Nothing like a hometown romance to get you in the mood to cuddle up with a good book.
Here we have Farah who is this smart, beautiful, and loving girl who thought she was doing the right thing but for who?
We all think that by doing something right turns out sometimes to be wrong and in Farah's case she learns the hard way.
Chris thought he had the girl of his dreams until it was shattered and now he's not sure what to do or how to move on. He tries to move on but just cannot seem to get her out of his head.
It takes a summer class and a summer vacation to try and bring them back into each other lives, but Chris is hiding something and everyone knows but Farah. When Farah finds out is it enough to keep her away or bring them closer?
I felt the emotions in this breathtaking story and I felt the pain. This story was written beautifully and well developed. Thanks Gabby for writing another amazing story.
Farah and Chris were already introduced to us in the first book, but it was very interesting to know more about them. Although the story is lighter than Hopelessly Imperfect, there are still some very emotional parts.
Farah leaves her family, her boyfriend and friends behind when she goes to college on the other side of the country. Not believing in long-distance relationships, she ends her relationship with Chris. However, when she returns home a year later, for the summer, she will have to face Chris and the feelings she felt were no longer there.
Chris had his heart broken when Farah broke up with him, and when she reappears in Boston, his behavior is hot and cold, confusing Farah at various times, however, he also matured and had faced his own problems.
The reunion of these two characters is very interesting, and the development and rediscovery of this love between them is fantastic. Also, it was great to read a little more of the other characters, especially Cassie and Nate.
I highly recommend this book.
