5.0 out of 5 stars Works!

Added this and increased the range of aircraft detection by twice, or thereabouts. I have picked up aircraft out at 100 miles, and probably twice as many number-wise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic

I popped this baby in and went from picking up a handful of planes out to about 30 miles to 100 or more out past 150 miles. I have the RTL-SDR v3 dongle with a homemade antenna. Two key items to remember are to make sure you enable the tee so the LNA has power and to set the gain appropriately.

5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive Improvement
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 20, 2018
I made a PVC weather enclosure for this amp and connected it directly to my Flight Aware antenna on my 30ft tower. There is 35 feet of RG6 coax to an adapter pig tail and a RTL-SDR V3 into a RPi. I have also tried the Nooelec SmarTEE with similar results. I have attached a graph to show the difference with the amp added in April. This amp must have power from a bias tee. The FA orange or blue dongles will not power it and would probably overload from double amplification anyway. Looking at the graph you can see a downward trend. This is from leaves growing on the 80 foot trees around my yard during the summer months. It will trend up in the fall and winter so look at April to get an idea of the gain I received with this amp. I was previously using a FA orange dongle with no filter as that worked better for my location. My avg max range went up about 30 nm since adding this amp.

3.0 out of 5 stars I was expecting more....

I was excited to get this filter up and running. As you can see I had a small timing issue enabling the BiasT and didn't successfully get everything configured for a couple of days. Once running it did extend the range but I seem to be missing positions on a majority of the closer aircraft.
