Brought Back Memories of My Life In Peru

I enjoyed Crook’s descriptions of the arid landscape, native people and food, which took me back to the days when I lived in Peru. Add to this exotic setting an archaeological dig, a hunky archaeologist named Dex, the stubborn, independent Jill, and a band of artifact thieves and I found myself immersed in a very exciting and sexy story. The author’s descriptions of some of the artifacts and pottery from the archaeological site, museums and the cave were amazing.

I never left my Peru house without a bodyguard, so I shuddered (spoiler alert) when Jill drove alone to the police station and took some other risky solo outings when it had already become clear people were after her. But that wasn’t a major distraction to my enjoyment. A sexy, suspenseful story not to be missed.

Jill is an independent, smart, creative heroine who is able to be impulsive and courageous in unexpected situations.
What could be more unexpected than a trip to Peru to track down a cheating husband? and finding ancient treasure? and a new man?
The author tells an exciting story with characters you almost seem to know.
There are many twists and turns and many times when things are not as they seem.
To say more might give away too much, but I highly recommend both of Dew Crook's booka both for her style and her characters.
You will love Peru.

This story has it all. It's a great read for anyone who enjoys an edge-of-the-seat romantic suspense. The story incorporates archaeology, vivid images of the scenic highlands of Peru and a torrid romance between two intriguing characters. I highly recommend this book.

Jill Flanders stares at the rain pelting the windows of her Manhattan office building. Her mood matches the gloom of the weather. Without the signature of her two-timing spouse on their final divorce papers, Jill can’t move on. Frank, her archeologist husband, is on another dig—this time in Peru. Likely he’s “uncovering” more than ancient Moche pots. The fax machine interrupts her reverie and Jill is startled to read a notice from the dig’s team leader informing her of Frank’s prolonged absence from the site. Artifacts have also gone missing. Is Frank a thief? Has he been kidnapped? Or is he just lying low with his latest curvaceous conquest? Jill wants answers. Believing her fluency in Spanish could be of help to the police, she makes arrangements to fly to Lima. What she’s not prepared for is Dex Conroy, the handsome ceramics specialist sent to retrieve her at the airport and assist in the search. Dex brings to the surface a lust in Jill she’d thought buried long ago; but her husband must be found, and her emotions kept in check. Someone, however, does not want Frank discovered; and when Jill’s life is threatened and Dex rushes to her aid, her feelings for him can no longer be denied.
