EDIT: After 8 months of casual usage, the mouse has begun to randomly disconnect from the computer (and requires a manual disconnect/reconnect to reconnect). There is no visible fraying in the wires, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I have contacted Perixx about this and will see what they can do(and update my review accordingly).

EDIT 2: Perixx didn't respond. Meanwhile the mouse sensor has completely given out; only the clickers work but the pointer doesn't move so the mouse is useless. I've only used this mouse casually so I guess this mouse has durability issues. Perhaps other reviewers will find similar issues soon (I was the first one to review). I'm deducting 3 stars.

PROS:
Appearance:
-The general appearance of the mouse itself is very good; it definitely looks quality. The LED lights look pretty awesome. The 3D "bumpy" paint on the mouse is well done and doesn't look cheap at all. It's so realistic that when I opened the box and exposed the mouse my brother said "it has a defect, they made it bumpy."
-The box is nice, has a magnetic cover in front which one can lift to see the mouse
-The metallic weights and box also look nice, although I won't be seeing much of them
-The wire is braided black and blue and goes well with the blue dpi lights

Functionality:
-Tracking is excellent and works well on all surfaces I tried (including carpet/rug)
-The pads/feet on the mouse are smooth and result in little friction when using the mouse
-Ergonomics are pretty good; it is not evident from the pictures but the sides of the mouse are coated with a matte-like finish--not quite rubber, but still enough for a decent grip when using the mouse.

This mouse fits really well with my hand and grip. I like the button placements. My only major gripe, is it tracks movement even when its lifted off the mousepad more than a 1/2 inch. I play with fairly low sensitivity so I pickup and move the mouse some for larger movements and it is tracking my backswipe unless I excessively lift it off the mat.

Update: I contacted perixx and they said would pass this info along to their design team to improve it. I ended up returning this mouse and buying a Razer Deathadder which has a setting for mouse lift right in the software. Really like it so far.

Update 2: Perixx responded saying their future mice will have a 2mm liftoff.

I have used other mice for gaming in the same price category as this one, and I have to say I like it better than the rest I have used. Not too much cluttered controls, fit nicely on my hand, DPI switch is placed in a different position unlike most, which is next to the scroll wheel. And it need s a good push before it switches DPI and there is tactile feel to it. Though I like the placement of the DPI switch, it might cause problems with people with bigger hands. The lights are not blinding, and the blue chevron lights below the scroll wheel are the DPI indicators. The mouse also came with a small cd with the software for adjustment, but I have not used it yet as I am contented with the lights and DPI adjustments. This mouse also came weights, so you can tune the weight to your liking. And it also came with extra foot pads.

This mouse also DOES NOT feel cheap compared to other gaming mice in this price range.

Only complaint I have is the cable is too thin and very sturdy/ not very flexible which might cause a problem where the cable attaches to the mouse, I think this will be the point where the cable breaks from repeated movement.

Overall I believe this mouse was a very good purchase for the price. It fits very well in my hand and the clicking feels very great. However, after just 2 and a half months the scroll wheel on my mouse has stopped working. I can no longer scroll on websites which may not seem like a huge problem but it is very detrimental to my browsing.
Pros:
Clicking feels great
Fits amazing in my hand
Works on most surfaces
The weights are a bonus
Cons:
Scroll wheel stopped working after 2 and a half months...
DPI buttons very small and not positioned very well, sort of wonky.
Scroll wheel doesn't light up and you can't change the DPI colors

Bought this to replace the MX-2000II mouse which i liked because the middle mouse scroll broke, mainly my fault though. The design looks similar however I find the length to be shorter and less comfortable. Also the on the fly DPI switch is located right where you put your thumb which leads accidental +/- while playing. This is easily disabled but the more annoying thing is the gaming mouse program that comes with the mouse doesn't allow you to change the levels of DPI that the on the fly changes to. You have to manually enter your DPI in if you don't like the preset levels each time, this is a game in it's self to have the thing take effect once you hit apply.

Also the middle mouse button requires an uncomfortable amount of pressure.
