Keep those cute but pesky little squirrels from raiding your bird feeders. The Perky-Pet Metal Pole Squirrel Baffler, with its all-metal construction, stops squirrels from climbing up to your feeder which they would invariably chew on as well as steal the seed inside -- if they were able to reach it. This squirrel baffler measures approximately 14.5" high, 7" wide and 7" deep and can be used on a pole up to 1 5/8" diameter (not included). Mounting hardware included for easy installation. This metal baffle is one-piece construction and will only work on straight pole mounts as shown in the image.

When I saw this online, the photo of the product doesn't show details so I was a bit skeptical BUT, it was costing us entirely too much $$ replacing bird feed each week because the varmints in our yard were emptying the feeders onto the ground and having a nightly feast. This Baffler has paid for itself in the first 24 hours of use. Today I woke to see NONE of the feeders had been disturbed & was pleasantly surprised to see several squirrels trying unsuccessfully to bypass the baffler.
This is VERY easy to install and looks like it can accommodate many different size poles as the contraption used to hold the baffler up has 4 screws that snug up to the pole as you screw each one in. I should have taken pics but it's too late now. :/ The point is.... this item is awesome !
A note for anyone wanting to purchase this for a shepherds hook or shorter style pole. The gadget that holds the baffler in place needs to be put apprx 4ft up from the ground in order to ensure the varmints aren't able to bypass the baffler by simply stretching up onto their back legs etc. This product works best on poles that are at least 6ft in length measured from the ground up, (Not a pole that is in total 6 ft long because 6 inches is lost when you sink it into the ground.) I hope this is making some sense. lol I installed this one on a graybunny feeding station and it reaches apprx 85 inches once it is securely inserted into the ground.
That said it does look sturdy if it would fit my application.
As for the baffle, it's well made and has a good weight to it. The clamp that goes onto the pole is made of metal and not plastic. There are 4 screws on the clamp that you tighten to the pole. The baffle sits half way down on the clamp. The screws prevents the baffle from falling to the ground. If you follow the instructions, I don't think the squirrels will be able to defeat this baffle but I'll update this review if they ever do.

This doesn't stop squirrels congregating underneath the bird feeder and hoovering up the food that's fallen to the ground. They can get quite aggressive and territorial about it. The solution is to leave a little bird seed on the ground a few feet from the feeder, so that the seed is spread over a patch of ground too large for a squirrel to defend. Our bird feeder drops seed when you fill it, and so all we have to do is to fill it a little way away from the pole; it costs us nothing extra.
I chose this design of squirrel baffle, rather than the more popular inverted bowl products, because I reckoned it would look less like an elegant guano display after a few days' active service. You know what birds are like. The horizontal surface gets stained with bird lime, but is small and not easily visible from a distance; the vertical surface stays clean.
I did make sure I put it at the correct height so I have raised my multiple feeder and I do keep a good 4 feet clearance around the pole .
In comparison to other squirrel baffles , slinky’s ( I have 3 ) this is excellent value for money and works
Unfortunately one of the more persistent ones has figured out how to do a death-defying leap from a not-so-nearby wall. Squirrels can jump an amazing distance horizontally if the mood takes them.
