Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What criteria should I use when selecting a hummingbird feeder?
A. Make sure it is one that will be easy to clean and fill, especially since you will need to clean the feeder every few days. If you are worried about bees and wasps or ants invading the feeder, purchase a hummingbird feeder with bee guards.
Q. How do I clean my hummingbird feeders?
A. Hummingbird feeders need to be cleaned every 1-2 weeks. Use hot water and a bottle brush, along with mild soap; be sure to rinse thoroughly.
The Perky-Pet cleaning mop is specifically designed for the purpose of cleaning hummingbird feeders, and is very convenient to use. This cleaning mop can also be used on seed feeders and oriole feeders for those small, tight spaces that are difficult to reach.
Q. What is the importance of providing water for hummingbirds?
A. Hummingbirds need fresh, clean water just as much as they need nectar. Hummingbirds stay healthy by using water not just for drinking, but also bathing, cleaning their feathers and to remove parasites. Waterers are better options than bird baths because they provide hummingbirds with fresh, clean water that prevents dirt and debris from contaminating it. In hotter climates or seasons, providing water for hummingbirds makes it easy for them to have access to a water source and retain their energy.

Top customer reviews
This one looked very cool, at least to me, and so it joined the buffet, filled with the same mix (I1 part white sugar: 4 parts filtered water)).
For at least two weeks, the hummingbirds ignored it. They supped at the others, but not at the new feeder. At the time, there was also an abundance of honeysuckle blooming, which had a lot more allure that sugar water. I tried to figure out if it was the newness of the feeder, the placement, the texture, the availability of the honeysuckle... It was hard to tell and the hummingbirds were not talking.
Finally, one day last week, a hummingbird arrived. He hovered in front of the three feeders, apparently doing a Hummingbird Feeder Assesment. He sampled each feeder. He then buzzed off.
But after that, the hummingbirds came to drink at all three... and at the honeysuckle blossoms. Apparently he was the Hummingbird Food Critic, and the others were waiting on his review.
Which was two wings up.
If you are looking for glass decorations for your backyard this is fantastic. However, if you are looking to feed/attract hummingbirds save a little money and get one with a perch.
Thank you for sharing this feedback. This feeder is designed to mimic how hummingbirds would feed from a natural growing flower. If the hummingbirds are less interested in this feeder, we recommend temporarily removing established feeders to encourage them to try the new design out.
