Great but wish colors were available seperately in biggie size

We like these but it's super frustrating that you can't find them separately by color (in biggie size). My son quickly ran out of black but still has over half of his bucket left. I hate that I have to buy a whole new bucket just so he can finish his ladybug. So it's kind of a rip off. He wants to make the spider next - I'm afraid there won't be enough black in the next bucket to finish the lady bug and the spider & I'll have to buy a third bucket just for that. But I'm not sure he can handle the tiny beads yet, he's only four and doesn't have the best patience. Ugh.

These beads are awesome but they DON'T come with a board. I originally purchased these thinking that my 4-year old would like these. After seeing that my 6 and 8 year old preferred these biggie beads to the original beads Perler Bucket O' Beads Fun Fusion Fuse Bead Kit-Sea Life even though they love sea animals, I also bought this board that comes with neat patterns Perler Fused Bead Pattern Kit, Biggie Bead Tray 'n Cards . The patterns are really nice and made "creation making" a bit easier for my 4-year old. These Perler Beads Clear Large Square Biggie Bead Pegboard 2 Pack are a must if you have more than one kid who will be using them. They even like connecting the boards to make larger items which end up looking pretty cool. This was a great purchase for this summer!

Some reviewers said that these didn't stick well together but I didn't find that to be true at all. You DO have to melt them a little longer (they're bigger and it makes sense) but even with the boards connected together we didn't have problems. Just don't expect them to fuse as fast as the beads that are half their size and weight.

I've used regular Fuse Beads, and Aquabeads. I like those products, and this is right there with them. I think all products are equally nice, and have their pros and cons.

Pros - I think the greatest strength these have is that these are less frustrating to work with. They are larger, so they are easier for children to work with and place using their hands. Additionally, they do not knock over as easily due to their size and the larger peg boards you use with them. These also are good quality because the plastic is thick and vibrant. Due to their solid/nice design, they also can be used as beads (in lieu of pony beads) for art projects which is cool.

Cons - My biggest knock on these is that they might be TOO big. I felt like these were slightly too big, and the designs seem to come out a little less nice than the other products because of that. Also, due to their size, they are not as great of a value, because for the standard price of 20 dollars you find on Amazon (I did not pay that much), you only get 1200 beads - not a great deal for a simple product. They should be more like 10 dollars for the amount.

Overall, I would buy these again, just like I would buy the comparable items that I mentioned earlier, but for different reasons/uses. These may fit a need that you have, and I will buy more in the future.

Or is it not even new? I used the tiny little beads before and alli heard was screaming that it's too hard or that it got messed up. my kids got extremely frustrated with the tiny little ones but they still love it. I was THRILLED to find those big ones, now my kids can finally enjoy the beads without getting frustrated! amazing!!!!! they take a bit longer to iron but all worth it. genius!!! be aware, you need to order the bored separately.

I definitely recommend this product.

Perfect for little hands

Perfect for little hands. I was expecting to get a lot of projects out of this bucket but if you use the patterns provide with the peg boards (sold separately but by same company) you will get around 6 as the boards are 15x15 and use a good portion of the board so 225 beads a project and with 1200 beads that's 5.33 so we will say 6.
We have only done one project and we are already out of one color. The pattern was heavy on that color but still disappointing.
I would suggest using a lot if pressure when melting them.
Over all the product is as described but I would suggest getting 2 buckets from the get go so you don't run out of colors.

We have the tiny peeler beads and we just found out about the biggie beads. these are WAY better and easier to use I have a 5 and a 8 year old and they used to get very frustrated with the tiny beads..now they do the big beads and not have a problem with their little hands. I wish there were more colors available! THis is now my go to birthday gift for kids of all ages! The make big fun pictures that we hung around the playroom.
