I just started using Perler Beads a few months ago. I bought a tub of 11,000, which seemed like a good way to start out. While I loved the amount of beads I got, it was a big pain sorting through the different colors. It also turns out there were only a few hundred of each color and it's very easy to go through black since it's such a basic color.
After a few weeks I ran out of my original black beads and decided to purchase this pack. While the 11,000 count of mixed beads might be a slightly better value money wise, I'd definitely recommend at least purchasing packs like this for beads you'll use a lot of. Also, don't underestimate how much time you would be spending sorting through assorted beads.
