About the Author

Atoosa was born in the Iranian city of Shiraz in 1977. She grew up in Iran and studied at Azad University of Tabriz. Having completed her degree in 2000, she moved to Tehran where she worked as a computer programmer for Iritec Company. In 2001, she moved to London to learn English, and also worked as a web designer. She returned to Iran in 2003 to work in the stock market in Tehran in order to learn about business processes before studying for an MBA, which she completed in 2005.

Atoosa was inspired to start her own company in the Import and Export field and became the Iranian representative for one of the biggest Iranian steel companies in London. This led to her moving back to London in 2007. She decided to devote more time to her passions of photography and food. She became Food Editor of Classic Magazine, and then decided to fulfil her lifetime ambition to create a Persian cookbook, which has allowed her to focus more on her creativity, and love of food, art and photography. 5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous book and outstanding photography!
By Libby on October 16, 2020
Gorgeous photography unlike any other book I own, the light is very subtle so the food can be prominent, which is then so beautifully plated. I made the Persian Pearl Barley Soup yesterday and everyone enjoyed it. Don't hesitate to purchase, its a beautiful book. God Bless You.

I bought this after hearing the author on BBC Radio 4 - Saturday Live. I was intrigued by the descriptions of the food. This is a beautiful book filled with wonderful Persian recipes that I can't wait to try. The instructions are very clear and the photographs resemble paintings. I am tempted to frame them! I am especially looking forward to trying my hand at making flower baklava. I expect I will be buying copies for my food loving friends.

Loved the book recipes and photos superb.
I own a great many Persian Cookery Books but this book by Atoosa is now in my top 3 favourites.I was happy in the fact there were a lot of recipes that are not in my existing library of Persian recipes.
I especially liked the Soup e Jo...Barley Soup recipe and the saffron yoghurt rice cupcakes.
The photography is First Class also by Atoosa.
So pleased to have bought this book and highly recomend it.
