This is the forth novella in the Almost Human series by author Melanie Nowak and unlike some series they do need to be read in order.
So this series has finally hit it's stride in this one. We know the characters .... the plot is out in full effect ... we have questions .... we have intrigue .... and we have one very addicted reader! I felt at the end of the third installment that good things were coming and I was right!
This for me was a 5 star read and I can't wait to get to the next installment!

Felicity and Cain's love begins to developed. Sindy becomes more involved and can even be a bit frightening.
Been becomes more obsessed with his hatred of vampires. Ally becomes more of a prominent part of Felicity's life. So much begins to unfold.
Definitely addicting. Must continue reading to get more of the story
Ben is still trying to come to grips with being bitten by Sindy and beaten by her followers. since he has been marked by Sindy he can feel her call to him and it is with help from Alyson and Felicity that he manages not to go to her. Ben also has to come to terms with the fact that his best friend Mattie was not only turned into a vampire by a gang who gave new meaning to "gang raped" but that Alyson and Mattie have had a relationship since it happened.
Ben hates that Felicity cares for Cain and now he hates that his two best friends, a human and a vampire are together. What he doesn't know is that Alyson is seriously contemplating becoming like Mattie so they can always be together. We watch as everyone tries to deal with what is going on, Felicity and Cain, Mattie and Alyson and Ben and Sindy. How long can Ben stay away from Sindy, is there a hope for a relationship between Felicity and Cain and will Alyson allow Mattie to turn her? There is also the interaction between Sindy and Cain. Cain can't bring himself to kill her but is determined to change her and make her see what she is doing is wrong.
Since Sindy was turned when she was about sixteen years old she is still a child in human years if not vampire years. She still sees life through the eyes of a teenager, meaning she wants to do what every she wants without seeing any reprecussions for her actions. Looking forward to the next chapter which fortunately I don't have to wait long for.
