Product description
Persona 4: Dancing All Night "Disco Fever Collector's Edition" is a North American exclusive set and the ultimate collector's edition for Persona fans! Persona 4: Dancing All Night is a story-driven music game of the cult hit RPG Persona 4, developed by ATLUS. Replacing the RPG elements are dance battles that challenge players' dexterity and accuracy, as they tap out re-mixes of fan-favorite themes and brand new music tracks. The storyline continues from after the events of Persona 4, when the teenage mega-idol, Rise Kajikawa, returns to the city to re-take her show biz career. During that time, a strange video appears on the internet and the unfortunate people who watched it have gone missing! Members of Kanamin Kitchen, Rise's junior idol group, have disappeared and it's up to the Investigation team to mount a rescue mission - only they discover the same monstrous Shadows from the Midnight Channel. To make matters even worse, their Persona abilities are rendered ineffective, and the Shadows in P4D can only be defeated by dance, so bust out powerful dance moves to save the day!

Since that time, she has grown and matured and her gaming has gone along with it. She has since played many titles with me cooperatively from Japanese RPG titles like the Tales series (Xillia, Xillia 2, Symphonia, and Graces f) to the psychotically humorous Borderlands/Borderlands 2/Borderlands Pre-Sequel.
Part of our Japanese RPG library includes Persona 4: Golden on the Vita. Both of us loved Persona 4: Golden and I myself had spent nearly 90 hours on my first playthrough. We loved it so much that we even bought the anime series which, if you haven't explored it yet, comes highly recommended.
If you're here, chances are that you've played Persona 4. If you haven't, do yourself the favor of picking it up for $19.99 (or less) here or elsewhere. It's a fantastic story and will certainly help set the stage for this outing.
Persona 4: Dancing All Night takes place shortly after the events in Persona 4 Golden. Rise is back pursuing her idol career in dancing. Things take a turn for the sinister, however, as the Mayonaka Stage makes its appearance as a replacement for the Midnight Channel. Other idol hopefuls are imprisoned within the Shadow World and it's up to the investigation team again to come rescue them. The catch: their personas are now powerless and they are forced to dance in order to defeat them!
The premise seems silly on paper...and of course it is. But it's a rhythm-based game and it marks the first time that the Persona series has dipped its toes in those waters. In practice, it's fun. It doesn't seem hard at first as the "runway" of dance moves to follow are mapped to the d-pad and PS buttons on the side. But some of the dual combinations can get tricky in a hurry and can vary from taps to holds leading to a fairly challenging rhythm game. It gets even more challenging as the analog sticks get used for "record scratches" for every complete circle that hits the rhythm perimeter, which can occasionally carry a "fever" heading for additional scoring opportunities.
Persona games tend to be story-heavy and this one is no exception. Those who enjoyed the voice acting (sadly, Rise's Laura Bailey was unable to reprise her role) and the story of Persona 4 Golden will enjoy the banter and dialog in this title.
Overall, it's a welcome return to the Investigation Team and it's good to see them again. The end of Persona 4 Golden was one certainly tinged with a great deal of sadness and seeing these characters again is like meeting up with old friends. My daughter and I love are loving it...dance on!
On a separate note - another reviewer noted that it's worth wearing headphones. I'll echo that here...get yourself a GOOD set of headphones. The music is AMAZING and the Vita speakers just don't do it justice.
Collector's Edition Notes
---------------------------------
The collector's edition comes with:
- 14 DLC costumes plus an extra song (downloadable from the PS store using the included code)
- 2 CDs of the soundtrack...and not just partial soundtracks either. There are 24 tracks on Disc 1 and 39 tracks on Disc 2. This alone made the collector's edition worth it to me.
- Vita skin (WARNING - the included skin is meant for the newer Vita model that's out there...if you have the old OLED version, it'll still fit, but it pokes out a bit on near where the bottom 2 holes are on this model and a little bit on top). 10 downloadable wallpapers are available to tie into the skin's theme.
- Teddie keychain. It's gold in color and surprisingly heavy.
- 2-sided carrying pouch. The pouch is glossy and very colorful on one side. On the other side, it's black but features an embossed Persona Dancing All Night logo on the back. The pouch also is separated into two compartments on the inside. If you have the hard carrying case for the Vita, it won't fit in there. However, the Vita fits in the pouch itself just fine.
Overall, I think that the additional $30 for the collector's edition was well worth the goodies included for the price. I particularly enjoy the remixes of familiar favorites from Persona 4 Golden and I have been listening to it at work.
Two enthusiastic thumbs up from my daughter and me!
THE PICTURES SHOW MY VITA WITH THE SKIN ON IT. THAT PICTURE IS TO SHOW HOW IT STILL FITS MY VITA EVEN THOUGH IT IS TH OLD VITA AND THE SKIN IS MEANT FOR THE SLIM MODEL. STILL LOOKS PRETTY GOOD!
THE OTHER PICTURE SHOWS THE SIZE OF THE POUCH. I PUT MY SAMSUNG TABLET IN THERE AND IS A PERFECT CASE FOR IT!
What you get in the outerbox besides the game and my review on 1-10 scale with quick description why :
The Teddy keychain: 9
Beat part is it is heavier and better made than most keychains
The teddy ps vita pouch 10
A BIG Awesome looking pouch. This is the best thing in the box by far and it is awesome. I am showing a photo of how big it is. I have the old vita and that fits in their with plenty of space. Very well made with a great look makes this the best and only case I will get. I even can fit my vita in their with a sony case already on it in the pouch.
The ps vita skin for SLIM 10
The reason I give this a ten is even though i have the old vita and it is designed for the slim it STILL FITS MY VITA!
The 2 disc soundtrack 8
Good collection of music any persona fan will like with cool artwork on cover
A sheet of stickers and dlc 7
I think the dlc should be included in the game and the stickers good looking.
Now the game is a.......8
This is coming from a persona fan who is NOT BIG INTO RYTHM GAMES. Just to put it in perspective. I think it is a little like guitar hero and patapon. I absolutely hated patapon and this is the first rythm game I bought since. The reasons it is a 8 out of 10 game:
Good to great songs
Easy to understand how to play
Very very good button configuration
Good story not great but for a rythm game its great. Lol
Graphics are sharp
I consider it easy to play but very very hard to master. And i love games like that.
But there are always cons:
Story should have been longer
Should have been more songs
In closing I think if you are getting this game YOU HAVE TO GET THE COLLECTORS EDITION And do the disco. Spend the extra cash and YOU will not be dissapointed. I got the corpse party bundle to and that is garbage compared to Persona bundle. If you dont like rythm games but love persona try to buy the pouch seperate. Remember this is not an RPG like golden but it is a very good rythm game. Nothing is ever gonna top 4 golden so dont get dissapointed when this isnt as good.
My final advice is to get this game if you like persona and rythm games. But PLAY persona 4 golden if you havent before you get this!

Also, for those who are trophy hunters, I would consider this a quick yet still challenging platinum.
Game offers a small track list of around 28 songs mostly remixes of the same 4 songs.
The game has a decent story mode that is very slow to start, but picks up towards the ending.
The game is very short and easy, i literally got the Platinum trophy in 15 hours, and this is where my problem is, their is nothing else to do after that. Kind of regret getting it Day 1, as i feel it wasn't worth the $80 for a game i will only go back and play a few times since everything is already unlocked.
I now have over 30 hours into the game and i'd say most of that is in the Sound Player just listening to the Snowflakes Remix... because it's just that good.

Disappointing when sellers don't state these things upfront.
To my surprise, once you get around the very silly premise of the story (and the silly nature of the game itself), what you get there is a solid rhythm game. The selection of songs is decent and plenty are available as DLC (though I find the prices for some to be exaggerated) is you want more. Audio is great, as expected for a Persona game.
I found it more comfortable to play on a pstv with a controller, and the game looks great even on a big screen. The game does play pretty on the vita itself (but I did feel cramped sometimes, might just be me).
One thing that bothered me is that characters are limited to specific songs: you do not choose characters before selecting a song, everything is predetermined. I can understand why that is, but it's still a disappointment.
As I said, the story is completely ridiculous and it took an effort for me to accept its premises, but it's a solid game and if you are both fans of Persona and rhythm games, there is no reason not to play this: it isn't a simple cash-grab.
Apart from that there really isn’t too much to the game, if you don’t like rhythm games then I would probably pass it as it’s more fanservice to those that enjoyed Persona 4; so if you loved Persona 4 and you love rhythm games like myself, you’ll have a great time with Persona 4: Dancing All Night.
I got Disco Fever purely for the soundtrack CD so everything else in a nice extra.
