Dr Rampersad in this book provides managers with a strategic and much needed framework, in order to effectively manage quality, talent development, knowledge transfer, and change, on organisations in both the public and private sector, allowing for increased organisational performance and improved service delivery. The Personal Balanced Scorecard (PBSC) creates a mechanism to engage the employee at an intrinsic and deep level, allowing him/her to express the ambitions and desires of his/her life, and systematically bringing this into alignment with the organisational strategic intent. This framework provides a mechanism for increased and productive communication between employee and manager, as well as addressing the management and appreciation of cultural diversity. The PBSC, integrated into and aligned with the Total Performance Scorecard, provides a management mechanism that will increase organisational performance, through much enhanced staff engagement, a happier workforce, and a clear line of vision between each organisational goal and those of each employee. It is an instrument for individual development, personal effectiveness and growth in life, and an instrument for enjoyment and effective talent management at work. It also provides a powerful coaching model, allowing each line manager a structured and effective mechanism to engage with staff in a way that will improve communication, and build trust and teamwork. -- Tania Smith, CEO, Suede Consulting & Human Capital Solutions
