Once upon a time, Mike Lisagor was IT industry executive. Then, in 1999, he relinquished his suit and tie to start a consulting company, Celerity Works (http://www.celerityworks.com). Pretty much retired now (from work), he is on the advisory board of an IT company and one of the co-founders of GovFlex.com. But, he spends most of his time taking nature hikes with his bride, writing articles and books plus playing jazz and blues piano.

Mike is the author of Romancing the Buddha (3rd edition updated Nov. 2021) which he adapted into a successful one-man show which can be watched on YouTube.com (https://youtu.be/zcjxVFktYjo). His latest books are How to Win in the Government Market (with Mark Amtower - Feb. 2022), My 50 Years of Buddhist Practice (Nov. 2022), Personal Growth in the Time of COVID (Feb. 2021) and The Essential Guide to Managing a Government Project (March 2021).

During this prolonged period of isolation, I've read a number of eye-opening books...."The Sixth Extinction", "Caste", and Baldwin's magnificent "The Fire Next Time". Perhaps not the best choices for a restless night. Lately I've reached for a different kind of lesson in Michael Lisagor's "Personal Growth in the Time of Covid". The Buddhist infused wisdom of Daisaku Ikeda figures prominently, interspersed with very brief chapters containing highlights of the lives and thinking of 30 artists, writers, scientists, musicians, and historical giants--from Annie Leibovitz to Lily Tomlin, Georgia O'Keefe, Martin Luther King, Sir Isaac Newton, Bill Withers, Herbie Hancock, Tolstoy and more. There is wisdom to live by in this collection of stories and inspiring quotes, and commentary from the author on his own personal struggles. Lisagor's new book is a powerful antidote to the disturbing realities of our current world. I woke up after one of these late night reads, on the tail end of a dream. I was standing tall in a landscape setting, wearing a white T-shirt with big bold letters on it that spelled out "PEACE LAKE".
