I have never seen 'Lost' so I cannot make a comparison. However, the way I felt following this one-season wonder reminded me of what I heard from fans of 'Lost.'

It grabs you and keeps you interested - or it doesn't. The dialogue is perfect because the town is a nightmare for a claustrophobic and this lends an 'all the world's a stage' vibe to the entire story. Imagine the confines of a stage or a stage set and never being able to leave.

I had to watch until the end, binge watching just to keep track of the plot. There was a very satisfying creative final scene, bittersweet because it excited and yet disappointed - there would be no second season.

PERSONS UNKNOWN was, in my opinion a very good series and could have developed into something amazing..if it had not been sabotaged from the beginning.
"SABOTAGE" you ask....yes. You see, this brilliant little show was shot in Mexico 2 years before it aired on NBC. It was developed for FOX's international market and, somehow ended up on NBC as a summer filler show. That was a very good and, a very bad thing.
We have to thank NBC for letting us see it....unfortunately the
PEACOCK programmers chose to mislead us by promising that
"questions will be answered" and then airing that series finale that gave us several cliffhangers keyed to a second season that NBC KNEW COULD NOT HAPPEN. It would have been very hard to restart the show even if NBC had wanted to.

That being said, PERSONS UNKNOWN was a very good show and I recommend that you try it....just go in knowing that this is an open ended Mystery that requires a lot of thought and, you will have to answer some questions using your own imagination....isn't that the best kind of Mystery anyway?

I saw this on TV, but missed some episodes. So glad to find it on Prime. I just wish there had been a Season 2. The finale seemed set up for it, but I guess the ratings weren't high enough. Maybe Prime can make it now because I think there is an audience for it.

While some may find "shortcomings" in the UN-answered questions then they are really over looking the beauty and reality of this entire show. Often times in TV and Film we have this sense of satisfaction with a so called ending, or a close and answers to sum it all up. But that is not reality or life my friends. This show has real people, not dolled up, blow-toys which is very rare these days. It keeps you coming back for more, and always guessing. I love that.

Another wonderful series the networks screwed us on. Really wanted to see season 2 when they would go deeper into the who's and why's. Unfortunately no other network has picked it up to make a redo.... one day maybe...yeah-not.

This episode was unaired on the series and filled in a lot of the blanks/questions when I watched it. I had tivoed the last 3 shows of the series and just got around to watching them, quite a few weeks after the end of the series. I was partway through the next-to-last show when I realized there was a missing episode. Also, the numbers shown by the network were different than on Amazon, too. According to the network numbers, episode 12 was the one missing. But take my word for it - episode 11 shown on Amazon is the missing episode and episodes 12 and 13 were the final episodes both shown on August 28, 2010,even though the network shows them as 13 and 14. It was well worth the $1.99 to me to be able to watch the whole show as it was meant to be watched.
