Brown's Persuasion Point has many practical applications for body language and influence. The book begins with an overview of common body language and what they indicate. Knowledge is power - but be careful about assuming the source behind what you see.
For example, recently, I was in a photograph and demonstrated one of the tell-tale body language positions that indicated discomfort. The reason I was uncomfortable wasn't because of the person next to me - he was someone I admired. It was because I knew I was eating into his time...time he needed to make sales to others. Looking at the photo...my body told what, but the why required explanation.
Brown goes on to share many practical tools you can use to build your rapport and influence with other people. These are powerful tools to build relationships with other people. I use quite a few of them in my work and they are effective when you are sincere. This is a helpful book for anyone who wants to put others at ease, create connections quickly, and be aware of what they are unconsciously communicating to others. Highly recommended!
