Calming formula is recommended for pets exposed to increased environmental stressors. When pets can't adapt to stress it can lead to nervousness, hyperactivity, excess barking, abnormal urine marking, excessive scratching, and destructive or aggressive behavior. Calming helps alleviate stress related behavior problems without affecting your pet's personality or energy level. It can be used daily or when extra help to relax is needed. It contains a combination of factors not found in other calming formulas such as a Colostrum Calming Complex, L Theanine, and Thiamine (Vitamin B1) which all address stress and calming. Colostrum Calming Complex is isolated from colostrum proteins which have a calming effect on animals. These bioactive proteins have been found to support cognitive functioning and support stress reduction. The Colostrum Calming Complex works synergistically with the L Theanine in this formula to promote relaxation and cognition. L Theanine supports calming and relaxation reduces irritability and low mood states. L Theanine has been extensively researched for its ability to help curb destructive behavior. L Theanine is a naturally occurring amino acid found in green tea. Studies down on L Theanine showed dogs were calm and relaxed without adverse effects or drowsiness; dogs were alert, playful, and calmer than expected, given their situations. B Vitamins help manage stress and help maintain normal disposition. Thaimine (Vitamin B1) has been shown to affect the central nervous system to help calm and relax animals. Calming does not contain any herbal ingredients (Kava Kava, Valerian, St. John's Work, etc.) or L tryptophan. Calming's ingredients do not cause side effects, addiction, and drowsiness or impaired motor skills.
CALMING FOR DOGS
Help Fido mellow out! Pet Natural's CALMING formula is designed to support pets exposed to increased environmental stressors and decrease destructive behavior. CALMING offers stress reduction support ingredients not found in other calming formulas. Whether its thunderstorms or traveling, we've combined ingredients such as colostrum calming complex, L-theanine and thiamine to address the stress and help your dog relax.
CALMING features L-theanine, an amino acid known for its relaxing effects in the brain. L-theanine has been shown to support increased concentration and focus while reducing irritability.
The way it works
L-theanine directly supports production of alpha brain waves. Production of alpha brain waves creates a deep state of relaxation while maintaining mental alertness without drowsiness. L-theanine also helps the body to produce other calming amino acids, such as dopamine, GABA and tryptophan. Dopamine is an organic chemical released in the brain to create feelings of pleasure and regulate mood, and GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is an amino acid necessary for proper brain function. As the brain’s natural relaxer, GABA helps control anxiousness, and acts as an inhibitory neurotransmitter keeping nerve cells from becoming over-active. By quieting nerves, it helps reduce muscle tension and supports proper sleep patterns. Because L-theanine helps produce so many neurotransmitters, it is extremely beneficial in regulating mood and curbing destructive behavior.
Benefits of colostrum
Another key feature of CALMING is its calming colostrum complex. Colostrum contains compounds not found in regular milk, such as growth factors and cytokines. Colostrum is very rich in proteins, vitamin A and sodium chloride.
The biggest benefit for animals ingesting bovine (cow) colostrum is the bioactive peptides in colostrum have natural relaxing properties that work to reduce stress and promote a sense of calm. These bioactive proteins have been found to support cognitive functioning and support stress reduction.
Additionally, colostrum offers immune support. It contains high levels of biologically active proteins called immunoglobulins, or antibodies. Antibodies are made by the body's immune system in response to bacteria or viruses and help destroy foreign matter. By ingesting colostrum, dogs will be better supported for fighting infection and staying active and healthy.
No stress formula
CALMING does not contain any worrisome herbal ingredients such as kava kava, valerian, St. John’s wort or L-tryptophan, and better still, its ingredients do not cause side effects, addiction, drowsiness or impaired motor skills. CALMING helps alleviate stress related behavior problems without affecting your animal’s personality or energy levels.
With all the health benefits, the unbeatable taste is the icing on the cake. CALMING is available in highly palatable chicken liver-flavored chews.
Whether at the state fair surrounded by temptations or you have a chronically hyper rocker pup, CALMING can be taken during times of increased stress, or every day to curb anxious behavior.

For your fur pal, it's so easy to feel a flight & fleet response,
if the pup doesn't feel safe, or some outside influence has him, or her literally freaking out, & acts they're fear out, by trying to comfort themselves, by excessive chewing, or other destructive behavior as they're humans can't understand it.
But it's meant to calm the nervous system, not knock your poor pooch out.
So please, take care when using Calming to comfort them.
Suggestion: Use varying portions at a time, I recommend no more then two little halves, of the small bones, for stress preventive doses.
Given only, as occasional treats, two times a day, for real stress filled days, or only one half as needed.
Your the one who should learn, when to give as much as required, to your pups needs.
Again, sparing is the key with any preventive.
You want a well adjusted pup, then give them lots of love, patients, treats, & plenty of chewing toys, to prevent destructive behaviors, make it fun for your pet. & he, & she, will learn over time, not to chew your things, or fear an ant crossing the street.
Remember they are more acute to sounds, we can't fathom or hear, so take this to heart, before shouting at your pal, for making a toy out of your favorite pump, or worse.
Sometimes redirection can even help. Like a new, sweat sock, tied with a knot, to assist with bitable grip, for a smaller dog. Tell your pal, this is your sock, let's have some fun!
Your dog will love you for giving him, or her the love & attention. & the more they chew on things you make clear, are theirs they will want to leave your socks, & other stuff alone.
When giving dental chews, tell your fur buddy, to chew them good, & concentrate on praising your fur pal more often, for completing a small task, you expected of them, so that they know they did good.
Positivity, stay positive! That's key, less scolding, & just don't blame your pet for everything.
You need to rationalize, how would you feel if you couldn't get through to anyone, what would you do, to tell your pup you wanted something, water, food, toy?
Sounds silly? Maybe but not to your fur pal...
Just give them love & don't forget to take personal time for them as well.
Pup's need lot's of guidance & care. So just put yourself in their paws so to speak.
& only Use Calming with a lot of thoughtful consideration for your fur pal, other wise you might end up with an unhealthy result. Always check instructions, & ask a Vet if this is the right comfort aid, your particular pets needs. & Good luck. -BB
All our tests were conducted 60-120 minutes after treating her. She is a 40 pound dog, so we initially gave her 1.5 treats (as the recommended dosage is 1 treat for up to a 25 pound dog) and then gave her two treats during subsequent tests. Perhaps this will work on some dogs and not others, but it definitely had zero effect on ours.
We had to make a long road trip (2400 miles round trip)with our two Dobes and I didn't want to go the phram route if I needed to keep them clam and I was amazed at how well this worked!
Our older guy is almost three, 98 lbs. and very docile as it is. He's mild tempered and rides well without getting worked up or excited.
Our young guy tho, 15 months old and 72 lbs. of whirling dervish and riding in the truck sends him into warp speed.
I did a test run with the treats the night before left and noticed the little guy settled down for bed time a lot quicker and easier than norm.
If he was a human boy, he would be that kid who wants nine drinks of water and six trips to the bathroom before lights out for good. This night he went right to his kennel and dozed off.
I didn't notice a big difference in our older boy that night, he's just a mellow fellow most all the time.
Three for the older guy
Two for the younger one.
About 30 minutes before we left I gave the boys the treats and once we loaded up, the little guy was calmer, not doing his normal back and forth, window to window dance he does. He sat down and watched the world go by, they older guy laid down and went right to sleep, but that's how he rides.
We had an incident where we got stuck in stand-still traffic, both the boys started to get anxious and frustrated as time wore on and an officer was walking (pacing up and down) in the stopped traffic, past our truck and that really agitated them.
I gave them the treats again and in 15 minutes or so, they were both calm and not really bothered by the commotion going on around us. THAT'S when I realized they were working for the older boy also.
They aren't cheap treats for sure, but worth the investment when they work.
