The PetBuckle Seat Belt Harness provides protection in a standard vehicle by using the vehicle's seat belt, LATCH Bar system or cargo area to securely restrain a harnessed dog. Just slip the seat belt through the web loop on the harness and buckle up. The harness is also designed for use with the PetBuckle Kwik-Connect Tether.
- Easy to Use: One of the easiest harnesses to put on, adjust and remove.
- Durable Design: Features automotive quality buckles, latches and adjusters.
- Comfortable for Dogs: Designed to minimize the potential for choking.
Pet owners can choose one of two harnesses, based on the weight of their dog. Two harnesses support dogs of almost all sizes.
- Small Breed: Fits dogs 20 pounds or less
- Standard Size: Fits dogs over 20 pounds
Note: There are some extremely small and extremely large dogs that will not fit into PetBuckle products.
What is a Latch Bar?
Latch Bars were recently introduced to the automotive industry to provide a common anchor attachment point for child and infant car seats. The Latch Bars are located in the "bight line" of the seat. This is the point where the back and bottom of the car seat comes together. This makes the bar nearly invisible, yet always available to securely attach your precious cargo. The standardized attachment points now required by law mean fewer opportunities to incorrectly attach a child/infant car seat. The Latch Bars also make an ideal attachment point for your pets too.
PetBuckle seat belt harnesses are the industry's only automotive-quality pet travel products, designed to provide crash-tested safety. PetBuckle provides pet owners with the products needed to drive with confidence, knowing their pets are securely restrained. PetBuckle brand safety systems are made with automotive grade components and are tested using the same test equipment used to test restraints found on commercial trucks, child restraints and school buses.

The sizing is very flexible and easy. The excess strap from sizing does hang awkwardly on the sides of the harness (like the extra on a fabric belt), but it doesn't detract from the function of it. It is also extremely easy to put on. Just slip over the head and buckle. I can take it off and on quickly and without having to re-adjust or re-size.
My dog can move easily and lay down with this harness on. I have even walked her in it for short distances. It does not impede mobility at all.
My main problem with the harness, and the only reason I didn't rate higher, is the area where the straps cross on the chest. There is a diamond shaped piece of rubber that holds the straps in their crossed position. This is adjustable for small neck holes and large alike, just by moving this piece up and down. The further up you move the piece, the closer the cross gets to the opening and the smaller the opening becomes. I positioned mine to cross on my Aussie's breast plate and it fit great. However, this piece does not secure into place, so as she moved, it slipped further and further down, enlarging the head opening and eventually making it onto her belly. She has a full coat and it just would not stay put and was constantly sliding down.Read more ›
Lastly, this rig runs a size large. My 30 pound dog is wearing the 10-20 pound size. My 60 pound dog is wearing the medium, which ws supposed to fit the 30 pound dog but would be overkill in strap and hardware size. The small 10-20 would be way too heavy for my 10 pound Chichuahua.

Have two of these for our two dogs, one a Boykin/Aussie mix (60lbs) and the other a Boykin female (28lbs). Easy to put on and take off and keeps the dogs secure in the back seat.Published 5 months ago by Stan Jaros
