As far as cleaning goes, they do attract quite a bit of hair (Again we have long hair siberians though). My secret is to use our Safari Slicker Brush and just "brush" the hair off it. It's faster than using the dyson to get all the hair off. I only do this about once a week and it works great.
Note: When pushed together, they *DO NOT* align up perfectly - there is a slight gap (See pic), but the cats do not mind!
She's starting to get a bit too big for the hole, considering it is closed off on one side since its up against the wall.... So when she jumps in, she has to struggle a bit more to turn around. I've noticed that she is starting to hang out on the top more often now and I think it's likely because of this reason. I'm probably going to take a saw to either side so that I can split this into two sections... The middle part seems like a bit of waste, so this way I can make two levels where she can still sort of hide in the lower part. I figure if the cardboard ever gets worn out, I now have a whole new two sides I can rotate to.
You can definitely feel that the cardboard used is a higher quality than some of the other scratchers out there. I doubt it is going to get worn anytime soon and I'll likely get an easy couple years out of it. I love the design too... Really doesn't stand out too much and I have already had several people compliment it, not knowing that it was a cat scratcher.
Fifty bucks is a bit much for some cardboard... But it looks good and it's probably going to last a while, so the value is definitely there.

Quite pricey, but I think it'll last a very long time (probably longer than a rope scratcher) and stops the carpets getting wrecked.
My second disappointment was the cardboard quality. In the videos I’ve seen the cardboard surface close up obviously looks like cardboard edge on, but it was very dense and looked different to the usual loose wavy line you find on cheap packing boxes. Not on mine it seems, I’ve got the same wavy cardboard which we all get for free every time we get a delivery.
I might just cut up the delivery box and make a second one. Could I have a fake product?
One other issue I noticed was that the coloured end plates are easily scratched by the cat’s claws. I haven’t seen this mentioned or shown before in any product videos. So even looking at it end on, it is likely to eventually get quite scruffy looking. At least on the Walnut Brown one, I cant testify if this is true of the other colours.
All of the above doesn’t seem to matter that much in the big picture as our cat loves it which is the most important thing. I specifically chose this design over the triangle and the large flat topped one, because there is a video on youtube where a lady got all of the different versions in one go and her cats apparently preferred the curved surface of this to lay on.
I can confirm this doesn’t seem to be a fluke as my cat also is attracted to the curve and loves to lay on it, grip the edge with one paw and fall asleep quite quickly. It is used as a scratcher as well, but the fact that it attracts the cat (even without nip) is a major plus for me as I don’t want it scratching other places just on this. Yea I know it’s a fanciful dream.
Worth every penny, even though it was quite a lot of pennies
My cat says I should give 5 out of 5, but I have to take one star off for the quality control issues
TL;DR, if you want a scratch post, this isn't as durable as you would expect. If you want novelty and a place your cat can pop its little butt down, this is pretty worthwhile. Messy and requires maintenance.
After trialling it in different locations we decided that rather than tucking it away, the best place would be right in front of the TV so the cats would think that they have our full attention.
Since then they have been taking it in turns to sleep on and use the lounger every day, so we have decided to buy a 2nd one.
We have had the the first one a couple of months now, since 8th Feb and with 2 young, energetic cats using it multiple times a day the first side of the scratching lounger is looking a little used, but I think there is still months of usage left before we will need to flip it over to the other side.
This scratching lounger is definitely worth the cost, it is an excellent design shape - clearly designed by people who understand cats, and the cardboard is an inspired construction material. Every single cat that I have ever lived with (10+) has loved cardboard boxes.
Well done PetFusion, this line of scratchers is awesome.
climbed onto the top and went to sleep...After that it was all go. Toys were pulled out and put back, it became her new bed of choice, and
finally she started to scratch it.. So it is well worth persevering - your cat will get there in the end. The only downside is the mess caused
by scratching - little bits all over the carpet. Still, well worth a bit of extra hoovering. A good buy, although pretty expensive.
Is it crazy to spend that much on the piece of cardboard? Yes! However my cats previously destroyed very expensive bed frame so I wish I had this scratcher back then.
Will I repurchase/recommend? Yes. Furniture is more expensive to replace.
My cats are 2 boys, fairly small domestic shorthair (4 and 6 kg), over 7 years old. Size wise and energy level this scratcher is perfect for them. I give it 5 stars because it is saving my furniture and makes at least one of my cats very happy, not bad results I suppose.
No such problem with PetFusion.
I purchased the Ultimate Cat Scratcher Lounge for my 8 year fur baby and it was instant love at first sight. She didn't hesitate to hop on top and get her claws into it.
We've set the lounger in front of our lounge radiator and our kitty rarely moves off the lounger. It's the perfect size for her to spread out on and snooze away the hours.
I'm really incredibly pleased with my purchase and will definitely be returning time and again to PetFusion for more of their wonderful products.
I absolutely 100% recommend this product. Neither you or your fur baby will regret it.
