I have three eggs. I put each egg in a separate dog bowl, they roll it around but it stays within the bowl. No searching under furniture for the egg.
It is great that they are adjustable, start it out easy, with all the holes open until they get the hang of it. Then make it harder.
I've seen some concerns that they are fragile. Yes, I have broken acouple. But I have been using them for a couple years. And heck, they are 6bucks, I replace it.
Well worth it.
NOTE: a pretty big CON is that it can be really difficult to screw the two parts of the egg back together. For some reason the threads don't line up well and sometimes it seems to take forever to put together properly. (you can also fill the eggs through a clever hole in the bottom... but that takes a long time to feed the smaller amounts of treats/food through.)
I definitely like how the settings are far more customizable than puzzle balls, the entire egg screws apart, and there’s a hole for putting kibbles or treats into while the toy is closed. It can also hold at least a cup of kibble, so if you must leave kitty for more than 24 hours this toy can hold at least a full day’s worth of her food and keep her from scarfing it all in the first 10 minutes.
I do not like how the screw threads sometimes jam shut a little, or how sometimes the difficulty setting is changed accidentally as you screw it open or closed. The plastic seems more brittle than that of the petsafe balls, more similar to the fishbowl feeder toy we got as a gift, and I hope that does not negatively impact its durability.
All in all, a good cat feeder toy that can be adjusted to most levels of cat ability between very easy and medium. None of the settings are what I would call hard, but it depends on how intelligent and food motivated your own cat is.
Importantly, the Egg has holes that can be adjusted to accommodate different kibble sizes. When I first introduced it, I left the holes big enough so the cats would get a treat fairly easily. Once they got the idea, I closed it enough so that it's more a variable ratio reward system. Sometimes they need to bat it several times to get a treat, sometimes a treat falls out right away. This works excellently for two of my cats, who have different methods: One pushes the egg with his nose, the other bats it around. My third cat is not as interested in working for food, although he'll steal someone else's treat. He'd probably do better with bigger holes, but that's not going to happen.
I purchased the Egg in May, and it's still going strong. Sometimes my greyhound takes it to his pile of toys, but he hasn't broken it (although a strong-jawed dog COULD break it with a good chomp). The cats use it all the time, on tile and carpet, so it seems like it's going to last.

Plastic is thin and cracked the second time we used it.. the hole is either too big or too small. I wouldn't buy again!!
