Without a doubt petcube has been her and my favorite, and I dont see anything else beating them out.
The first petcube I got was 2 years ago. It was the petcube play 2. it was amazing to see her interact with other people on the cube. She knew who these people were and she honestly waited for people to play with her! She played for days straight non-stop. And well the cat, petcube + alexa + laser = all he does at night.
So when petucbe updated their devices for the 2020 models, I got what I now call food petcube.
Cam quality
To be honest it is somewhat subpar, but for the device that it is, it does its function. If you have an older petcube thinking this new one has a much better cam, you might feel disappointed. To put things into perspective you really cant even tell what color people eyes are if they sit right up close to the cam. Sometimes the image looks ok but often it is grainy and it looks like water paint. However, most of these cams, security cams always look so blurry. Have you ever see a good video of a crime or anything from a cctv cam? me either! So it is kinda on par.
Can I see what my animals are doing... yeah, like I can tell if the cat is trying to eat the dog food that petcube throws. But.... I cant hold up a peice of paper and you read anything on it. the cam is serviceable but if you really want to check on your pets put the cam up close to them. (I leave my dog and cat in their cages and bring the petcube just right outside of them)
Night vision
It does work decently well in my home. Some things like small bright lights affect the image, but I am more impressed with the night vision than the regular. I will say the night vision is almost on par with the regular cam just you lose most of the colors. So in the dark its good, but you really cant zoom in that far without having some noise in the image. But I can see my cat running across the room about 20 feet away.
The frame rate is really good. I dont notice it lagging or having a strange shuddering affect either.
Microphones
Work very well. I can hear my dog crunch food as she eats it. I can hear myself or my TV very well in the other room. Or I can even ask alexa to do something from in the other room. As far as the mics go that work well enough this is a non issue.
Software
The software is super easy to use and look back at what happened. The only complaints is the connection to the cube stops or needs to be reestablished at the start. This has never prevented me from checking on my pet but it is super annoying and it has always been a thing. But again I havent had a time were I just couldnt check on my pets and I have had a petuve for 2 years now.
Food scheduler
is amazing. unlike many feeders for lets says cats... they cost about 100$. They have no cam or mics, and they also only feed 12 times a day or so... like why? With petcube you can feed by the minute as much as you want. You get notified when a treat is tossed and you can see your pet eat it! So for 200 your getting so much more with an autofeeder.
Treat performance
So I has issues with my petcube at first..... This is a must if you are having problems. There is a plastic piece that turns inside the machine.... MAKE sure that it sets all the way in the bottom. There should be NO gap between this plasic spiny thing and the bottom. This will fix all your problems. Since I have discovered this, I have had no problems throwing any type of food. Even the bigger sized pieces of my dog's food throw just fine. And the small kitten food works just as well. I can feed them correct portions as well because they provide little dividers that help regulate how much food comes out. The dog has no divider, which is also fine, but it allows for all her food to fit and she is big, thus needing bigger portions.
Both my cat and dog eat their food out of petcube every night. The dog loves it so much. She again will wait for the cube even if there is no food inside of it. So for nearly an hour or more a day both of them play with the food petcube while they eat dinner. Which for me as a student makes me feel good when i am busy because I know they get to play and interact some.
The food that comes out has many control options too. I can make it throw 20 feet across the room or very gently in front of the machine.
All in all THIS is my dogs dream toy. It works perfect and combines so many of her favorite things all in one.
She gets food... food thrown at her... she knwos when i chime in while away and that I can see her
To be fair I am running out of cool dog stuff that I can find. She has the 500$ pup pod/pet tutor two 400$ dog beds, so many robot toys, a 300 smart collar (like a smart watch for dogs) ecx.....
My point is, for anyone else, petcube is where I would start. I highly recommend it in general. 200$ may seem steep but you can interact with your pet at anytime.... or just ask alexa! or set the food scheduler. I am saying dont waste your money on crazy stuff until you have a petcube. or if 200 seems like a huge investment.. think about the many options it can provide. I am sorry but I got 200 bucks worth out of sheer laziness not having to play with my pets sometimes. They are both, cat and god, super glued to the petcubes.
Also customer suppoer
I first wrote a well bad review about petcube. And well they sent me a brand new one! They wanted to make sure I didnt have anymore issues. As mentioned before, I didnt set the spinny thing all the way down and my treats kept getting stuck. Once i had gotten the new petuve I inspected it and learned what was the difference.
Point being these people gave me a free cube just because the wanted the customer satisficed. That is very bold and committed. To be fair I never had to contact them before because I never had issues. And well I though they were crazy, but it was me who was the problem.
All in all i do trust petcube and it has always worked for me. This is by far the best pet product out there especially for the money. As a security cam, it could be better, but it just has that special sauce that keeps both my cat and dog entertained. Out of everything she owns. I know this is her thing.... So I have no choice but to give petcube 5 stars as Kayko and Kira cant stop... petcube has just become a lifestyle choice for them.
This is also handy when I’m at home but in a different room and I hear shuffling out in the living room. I once had a foster that loved to rearrange furniture at night and I now have the funniest night vision recording of the dog scooting her bed around to three different locations in a 10 minute span. If I opened the door, she would be laying down or stop moving, so without the Petcube I never would have known how she did it.
The device is super easy to set up and fill with treats. I’m not sure yet how to clean the treat area but haven’t really needed to, and the device itself is just as to disconnect when we don’t have any fur guests. The only thing I don’t love is that the stream (though I can zoom in) isn’t detailed in night vision. So once the sun goes down it can be hard to discern the dog bed from the dog itself. But for not having a subscription and just using the free service, I have no real complaints. Once I have my own dog I’ll probably get the subscription so I can use the motion detection!

This arrived yesterday so I can't speak to how well it'll hold up. My initial impression taking it out of the box was that this was clearly an item that had been sold to someone else and returned. It had random debris on it (including what looked like dried pieces of grass - was it used outside?!) with lots of crumbs in the treat compartment, especially down in the rotating mechanism. Gross.
I set it up anyway and have to say that downloading the app and getting it connected were easy. However, the second time I tried to open the video feed, it was somehow unable to find the camera. I had to restart the app to make it work. I've found that you have to restart the app or at least go back into video feed viewing mode every so often if you want to watch the feed continuously. This is how I plan to use it, at least at first, because I bought this for my dog with severe separation anxiety.
I can't speak for the two-way audio feature. I've been told by the behavioral vet that it would probably do more harm than good in my dog's case.
The treat dispensing feature, which was the main reason I bought this, is very hit or miss. This may be connected to the specific camera I received. I've tried 2 different kinds of treats so far and experimented with different sizes of the yellow inserts, and it's still hard to control what comes out. Sometimes, it's one or two like I want. Sometimes, it's more or less. And sometimes, it makes this horrible grinding noise and a whole lot of treats come out as well as a spray of crumbs the next time you fling a treat. My guess is that treats are getting caught in the mechanism, being ground up, and then a shotgun blast of treats comes out the next time. I expected better from this second version, based on the reviews, so I suspect that this particular camera was returned for being defective by the previous owner and that it was shipped to me without anyone looking it over or even cleaning it out.
This isn't very important to me, but the picture quality is only so so. It's about as good as the cheap baby monitor cameras I already have set up to watch my dog.
Overall, I say you might as well save your money and buy used - or just get a cheaper camera. Chances are, it's what you'll get anyway!

Also Alexa is not available in Singapore.
I paid a premium price for extra’s that I cannot use here. I had better bought the Petcube 1, that had saved me a lot of money with the same options.
Amazon SG should have provided better information.
