Toys that mimic the thrill of the hunt encourage even inactive cats to chase, pounce and leap, transforming playtime into exercise time. The Mystery Motion replicates the darting and dashing of a real mouse and the battery-operated control base in the center lets you set the speed of the mouse's movement. Save to Shortlist Your cat's brain is hardwired to respond to erratic movements - just like those delivered by Mystery Motion. This cat toy replicates the darting and dashing of a real mouse to get your cat up off the sofa and playing. The erratic movement of Mystery Motion's concealed mouse keeps your cat guessing (like when you place your hand under a blanket and move it around to make your cat pounce). A battery operated control base in center lets you set the speed of the mouse's movement.

So like a tough guy in a bar, she'll come right back, just to make it painfully clear that this toy better not move one more time or she'll absolutely rip it's feathers off (which amazingly have not happened yet), and boom - she's kicking it's a** again. After owning it for a second time, she struts off knowing she's made everything pretty darn clear... but just a peek... just one little head-turn to look back annnnddddd.... there's that damn feather taunting her as if she didn't already have a damn clear discussing about who's who, and what's what around here!
Now she's pissed and sh!t's going down! She pounces...
It goes on like this for a while. Her favorite is when she just catches glimpses of it around a corner or when she's on a chair and it's just below.
It's truly like she doesn't actually like the toy, but rather it insults her for even trying to be a toy. It's weird, but I guess it's a win.
They make a butterfly product like this, that is cheaper, but the same concept. It also falls over.
The base on this is better. And this has multiple speeds and can change direction which I love. It's also much better quality.
The problem is they can tip it over- easily. My kitten doesn't even weigh 3 pounds and he rips it over constantly.
If you have an elderly cat who lays there and just bats gently at it, it would work well for you.

It would get 5 stars if it wasn't for one major flaw:
