This Petmate bed takes care of the sliding problem quite nicely. Also, the canvas covering wipes down easily and can be washed if you remove the foam-covered board from its velcro-closed pouch and disassemble the frame. Its not hard to do, but I'd rather not. To alleviate the washing issue, and to provide a little more cushion for the dog, we bought an inexpensive fleece blanket that we fold and place in the bed. The dog arranges the blanket to his liking, and it (the blanket, not the dog) can be easily cleaned in the washer.
Best of all...my wife approves.

However, the dogs just eat the material up. It may be just them but they've torn through the material on both units. In the first unit, one of the screws would not properly seat into the leg hole. It appeared the hole was not properly threaded. I managed to 'force' it in there and it was stable for a while. Over time, however, it gave way which lead me to try it one more time. This time all the screws were in solidly but once again they gave way over time. This time I'm looking for another option.

I loved this bed, but unfortunately the legs always loosen up and the bed gets wobbly. My boxer Darla won't sleep in it anymore because it wobbles and doesn't feel secure to her. Read morePublished on November 17, 2013 by Cynthia Krakoff

The dog really liked this bed. The trouble is the screws sheared off and made it pretty worthless. It's too expensive to just have to throw out. Read morePublished on August 22, 2013 by Carri1

I bought two of these beds over 18 months ago. At that point, we had two "medium" dogs that weighed about 30 and 35 lbs. The beds were perfect for them. Read morePublished on December 21, 2011 by PJ Photo
