Overall pleased & served its purpose

Overall pleased & served its purpose
I ordered these for my son's mad scientist themed party. The size of the dishes are fairly accurate if not exact to the size of an actual Petri dish. The plastic is very clear, no haze on it at all. The only thing I didn't like was I felt they were a little flimsy. Overall, I am pleased with the product

These are perfect for my needs. They are a little thinner that Corning or Fisher but they are a heck of a lit cheaper too! The lids fit nice and they stack well. One plate on the bottom was cracked but I didn't deduct points because I don't think I've ever opened a sleeve of dishes and not had at least one cracked (usually broken completely and more than one) even when purchasing a case from Fisher.

Perfect for what we needed them for. We had a science themed birthday party and made petri dishes with jello and gummy worms in them. They were a big hit! A bit messy and frustrating to make but fun in the end.

I was having a bacteria themed birthday party for my 11 yr old son. I ordered these so I could put jello in them. The title says 25/pk.... however, there were only 20 in the package. Even the package sticker says 25/pkg! But before writing this review I looked further at the 'product features' and under there it says sold as 20/pkg. I bought these bc I wanted more than 20... 25 was a good number. Soooo, I was short. Thankfully, my husband had some at work and I was able to make the number needed. They NEED to update the title and the pkg sticker!! All of mine arrived in tact and in good condition... thankfully! I would purchase again if needed. I only gave it 4 stars for their false advertising of the quantity and size. Mine measured 84mmx13mm... so they are smaller than advertised too.

I don't know how these could be rated anything but excellent. They were packaged well so no cracks or damage in shipment; the covers fit tightly over the base; and they are inexpensive enough that their one time use is no big deal. Makes lab work less aggravating. Thumbs up.

A few were broken. Difficult to get replacement without a full return, since they are all sterile in a sleeve together. But they are also pretty cheap, so what do you expect? They appeared to be sterile, as my plates didn't contaminate barring a few likely to human error. Fine for casual home use, maybe not up to snuff for lab use. Might buy again, might buy direct from China for 1/4 the price and see how well that works out.

used in conjunction with a nutrient agar - either purchased or homemade, they work great for growing creepy crawlies present on your computer keyboards, phones, car steering wheels , etc. you need warm temps for maximum growth. I just bought a cheapo styrofoam cooler, put a 1/2 gallon mason jar with water and a tiny aquarium thermometer inside , in the cooler, Incandescent lamps will work too -but less control of temp, and they are becoming harder to find. Oh, and PLEASE do not open them once stuff has grown inside - you don't want to release the next plague upon the world.

Fisherbrand has good quality plastic Petri dishes, which were exactly what I needed for this. I'll use them to keep Orchard Mason bees in my fridge drawer (yes my wife says that's fine since they'll hopefully stay in their cocoons while they overwinter). These dishes will allow some air to be exchanged, which will probably make the little beelings wiggle their butts happily in their coccons while they're waiting for spring to finally come.

Nice packaging - easy-open bag. Very convenient. Quick shipment too.

I ordered these petri dishes through Amazon.com for a specific purpose. I need plastic dishes that are 100 mm. These are advertised as 100 mm and the information on the sleeve they came in says they are 100 mm by 15 mm. They carry the name of Fisher Scientific.

When they arrived, I found that no part measured a full 100 mm in diameter. The lids measure about 92 mm, the bottoms measure less than 90 mm in diameter at the top (open) edge and only 85 across the bottom. They do not fill the need for which I ordered them. I also ordered 10 150 mm petri dishes also and they do truly measure 150 mm in diameter.

If size is important to you, don't order these petri dishes.
