I thought I could try "printing" the book out to a pdf file, but that won't work either. Fortunately, you do have the ability to print it out to a regular paper printer. It defeats the whole purpose of buying an eBook (I didn't have a choice, this was the text required by class), but having a paper copy on 8.5 x 11 was better.
My primary objection to the book is the digital format. I'm all for e-books, but this reminds me of the copy of Microsoft Encarta '95 that came with my first PC, back when "multimedia" was the buzzword. Everything loads off the disk, so load times inhibit scrolling through the text. There doesn't seem to be a way to port it over to a Nook or Kindle or iOS or read it on anything other than a computer with a CD-ROM. You also can't enlarge the window to make the print and images bigger than their native resolution or get rid of the bulky sidebar.
I would love a portable digital copy of this book. I would even give up the Quicktime videos for a PDF version.
I downloaded to my Window 7 based laptop and the result is awful, terrible, dreadful, appalling, shocking, ghastly, horrific, unpleasant, poor, inferior, faulty, defective, substandard, imperfect, shoddy, rotten, horrible, corrupt, abysmal, regretful, horrible, shocking, and unbearable. The text is not even in PDF format and its very small window/view can't be enlarged, really?
The downloaded eTextbook will not open without its CD inserted in the laptop, REALLY IN 2013? Upgrade this thing or stop selling it. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY GUYS. I wasted mine already. THIS IS A RIP-OFF!
