Phantom Of The Opera - 1998/Approx. Runtime 99 mins/R
Mysteriously, a series of terrifying accidents and brutal murders leaves a bloody body trail in the subterranean caverns of an opera house basement. Born into the murky sewer waters below the theater stalks a man/monster raised by creatures of the underworld. This Phantom's dark and grotesque life is shattered when he becomes obsessed with a beautiful young singer, seducing her with his chilling but exotic presence. The blood-curdling terror and disturbing eroticism of this classic story make this horror film one that will haunt your dreams forever.
The Fear: Halloween Night - 2004/Approx. Runtime 95 mins/R
On Halloween weekend Mike Hawthorn has invited his girlfriend, Peg, and some other friends to stay at his family's country retreat where they intend to party till dawn dressed in costumes that represent each individual's deepest, darkest fears. The Halloween party is set to be great fun, until Mike reacquaints himself with an old family friend, an American Indian named Crow. Crow has other plans for Mike, namely to prepare him for an ancient ceremony using an antique wooden mannequin nicknamed Morty.
Within The Rock - 1996/Approx. Runtime 88 mins/R
The ultimate predator...unleashed! The countdown to the end of the world has begun. As a runaway moon hurtles through space on a collision course with Earth, only a small team of interplanetary miners stands in its way. Their mission to alter the moon's course is halted when a fossilized alien is unleashed from its subterranean hibernation. Worth buying for Within The Rock alone as that feature is the best on offer here, A crew on an asteroid (they are there to drill deep enough to blow it up to save earth, yes that old line again) encounter a nasty alien creature.
Fear is about a Halloween party that goes wrong with the guests being slain, not a bad effort for what it is.
Opera was pretty boring, almost putting me to sleep.
So Within The Rock and Fear are not bad for the price of this set.

*Within the Rock is $24, seperately, so this collection is a better option. It, by far, is the best of the three movies.
* The Fear 2 stars the guy that played The Anti-Christ in, the original,
Left Behind: The Collection (Left Behind / Left Behind II: Tribulation Force / Left Behind: World at War), kinda weird...
I thought it really WAS a Russian actor [in Left Behind]. His accent was more believable than T-H-I-S extremely bloody
flick's rubber monster.
*Dario Argento's Phantom of the Opera, seperate, is $6.50. This film is sorta like a combination of the 1980 "soft-porn"
Caligula (Unrated Edition), with the story you're familiar with, but, WITH full-frontal male/female nudity... yet seems S0Oo
MUCH longer [time-wise] than its 1:39.
Speaking of its time [1:39], this film's aspect-ratio is 1.85:1, yet the opening and closing credits are window-boxed (that
is, there're black bars all around... not just on the opposite sides); which turns to pan-and-scan for the bulk of the movie,
with black bars, right and left.
Steven Spielberg calls pan-and-scan movies [where 1/3rd of the picture is lost on the sides] "crap-o-vision".

Enough said.

Phantom of the Opera/ The Fear 2/ Within the Rock is a Triple Feature DVD that I bought strictly for Within the Rock. It's a good little movie about an Alien Creature that kills a mining team on an asteroid. In my opinion, the other 2 movies are barely watchable. (Although, I'm sure they have fans, as most z grade movies have fans somewhere.)
