I just finished "the Pyramids", by Dr. D. A magnificent work, rationally presented . And there are so many factual statements, subject to peer review, that I'm convinced he's right; no one could "fake" that much and get away with it. The only remaining mystery is just why is he not recognized as demolishing the idea that carved stones are the construction method for the Pyramids, with or without the help of alien civilisations , and long lost technical marvels. Dr. D. finds no need of such outside help; it would surprise no one to find out that the Hoover Dam was "cast in place", why is it so unbelievable that the ancient Egyptians could do that as well? In fact, I understand that "Egyptologists" admit that certain vases and jars are "cast" stone, so why not big blocks? Great book, and easy to follow, as well.

Of course the re-discovery by Joseph Davidovits of how the great pyramids and some monuments were made, at least the stones out of which they were constructed is now over thirty years old. He based his work on Geopolymerzation on some earlier work by others but he is the one that made the connection between 'synthetic stones' and the Pyramids.

I won't spend any time 'defending' this assertion because the evidence is there and has been for a very long time for everyone to see and all of the arguments are in this book, the 2nd one after his first about the same subject. They are not totally the same and there is quite a bit of overlap, as there should be, since they are proving the same thing, but there are interesting bits and pieces covered in one book and not the other, so I would recommend reading both.

Very well written and enjoyable to read and I think he makes his case convincingly and quite clearly.

Highly recommended.

Joseph Davidovits has been analyzing natural forms of agglomerating stone, called 'geopolymers' since at least the 1970's. He founded the Geopolymer Institute in France, which is the organization which published this book. He has made reconstituted limestone blocks weighing many tons with minimal labor and in matter of days with tools and methods at the Institute available to the the early Egyptians of 2500 B.C. His extraordinary work has been ignored by major journals and 'Egyptologists' for whom thousands of serfs hauling huge blocks up ramps is an unshakable belief, at which they marvel as being beyond comprehension given the size of the larger pyramids. How the huge blocks were made with such precision is not beyond Davidovits imagination because he has made some as mentioned, and he has made far more detailed and comprehensive studies of Egyptian geology, inscriptions and vocabulary and the pyramids themselves than the Egyptologists, of whom few or none know anything about geopolymers, even those used by the Romans 2000 years after the great pyramids.

Some of the points he makes:
1. The largest pyramids were made before the iron age with soft copper tools. The huge number of pyramid blocks fit perfectly, how could this have been done? Because they were not cut but polymerized in position and on site. The process was a secret of Imhotep and his assistants, and Davidovits presents evidence it was later lost due to material shortages and loss of knowledge of the techniques in later dynasties.
2. If the stones were cut to the exacting tolerances found, there would be huge scrap piles in quarries of stones that chipped or fractured unevenly and would not have the perfect fit necessary, yet there are no such rejected broken block piles.

This is a 2009 book following on 1972 research. That's over 37 years of improving knowledge. In other words after offering a significant alternative solution, followed by the normal scientific attacks, new evidence just kept on being produced. A Recap: There is very strong evidence that Imhotep (the Newton of Egypt)for the Pharoah Djoser around 2750 BC developed a method of making concrete using certain types of Limestone from certain Wadi's, mixed with Nile water, and certain available chemicals (from turquoise mines) and Natron salts and likely lime ash from the community households. With a few experiments in earlier pyramids they perfected the method and built the biggest pyramid of Giza, the first - Cheops, using concrete to form the blocks in-situ. They didn't haul them up on huge ramps. Focus on Cheops. They likely quit this method because they ran out of the necessary raw materials. The book has done more for me to put in perspective the long trend line of civilizations within Egypt than the years of following the standard explanations. We are talking of a civilization that spanned 3,000+ years and so certainly wholly different cultures and methods would develop over time. While comparing one "chunk" of limestone or granite casually (visually) between pyramids do not seemingly prove any point, Davidovits (and his team) answer the numerous objections. The most specific is that any limestone can be traced back to a specific Wadi, and under SEM's any limestone can be analyzed as to its chemical make-up. Importantly, the Cheops limestone contains chemicals not found in any natural limestone. They have been added by man. This is science. It can be analyzed with open minds. Evidence that some different and later pyramid differed from Cheops is not evidence that Cheops itself was not made this way. A brilliant work of analysis and persistence. Do the analysis on more blocks within Cheops or withhold the wrath. As to how Cheops was built - this moves up to my highest probability.
