I bought this book for a pharmacology class I took over the summer. The instructor specifically wanted the students to buy this book, but I was skeptical because I already owned another pharmacology for nurses textbook. After comparing the two, this book is definitely more student-friendly, being easier to read and comprehend. Drug mechanisms of action and descriptions, etc are difficult enough, so I was relieved the book gave me more in depth information presented in a tolerable fashion. I will not be reselling this book because it's a great reference!

This pharmacology book is LOADED with helpful information! I use it for my classes and also at work, its light weight enough to slip in a bag and take with you and it has excellent charts, diagrams and a free website full of information. Most of the new ones come with a study guide also that is full of additional information for those of us who are Student Nurses, Nurses already or like me a Nurse already who is continuing their education. This is an excellent Pharmacology book! I have read a couple reviews that the binding falls apart, let me tell you I am very rough on my books and they usually go everywhere with me, and I have had no issues with this book! If you need some help with Pharmacology this book will help you, you really cannot go wrong with this purchase!

The content of this book is excellent and made pharmacology a lot easier for me. However this book comes as a crappy paperback and cannot withstand the heavy use I gave it. The spine of the book could not even make it through one semester and the entire book is on the verge of falling apart. This is annoying since I always handle my textbooks carefully and with respect.

This is a really good book for nursing students, it is easy to read and understand. It has pictures and illustrations to help explain the pathophysiology of what a drug does. The chapters are short and to the point. I recommend this book, but if your school requires MyNursingLab access for this book, you will have to purchase it separately because it does NOT come with this book unless you get it from your college bookstore.

I really disliked this book! I found myself using my drug guide more than this book. It was so stupid. The charts were confusing and the text made me feel "duh". I did not use this book too much but when I had to for an assignment I always thought to myself, "I'm glad we don't have to use this book regularly." Pearson for some reason makes their readers feel dumb- in my experience. We are nursing students, we have probably heard of some of these drugs before, we don't need the most basic information repeated over and over throughout the chapter and then throw the drugs in a chart at the end. No--explain the mechanics, the routes given, the MAJOR side effects, adverse effects, dosages and nursing implications. This book failed to do that in my opinion..... unlike my awesome drug book.

I sold mine after completing the class and regretted it ever since. i ordered this book because I'm used to it and it has a lot of great information, which is way too much to go into here... However, I strongly recommend it...

This was a bargain! It might be an older edition but when I compared it to the newest edition there was almost no difference, yet it was a fraction of the price. I tend to rent a lot of my college books, but glad I bought this, it's one I intend to keep. It was in great condition without any mark ups or highlights, and no problems with delivery.

This book was great. The only thing I did not like was that it was paperback. I am not sure if they make a hard cover copy of this book. I think I would have preferred a hardcover because of its size.
