My music preferences are pretty catholic, as they probably are for a lot of people. The playlist on my phone is dominated by late '90s/early '00s rap and classical baroque, although the Doobie Brothers have been getting heavy play of late. It's not easy to find a headphones that can handle JT Money and Boccherini with equal aplomb, but the Fusion gets as close as any.
The bass is more warm than heavy, maintaining good presence on the whole while never getting muddled even on bass-driven tracks such as UGK's Players Anthem. Sounds in the mid-range are characterized by a smooth, natural timbre. The Fusion is remarkable for its balance, and it's the mids that anchor and really round out the overall sound. The crown jewel of the entire register, though, would have to be the highs. On a playing of Hilary Hahn's recording of Bach's Partitas for Solo Violins--played at varying volume levels--they came off as clear and present but never overwhelmingly so.Read more ›
very good mid-range as well as bass and treble response: bass rich, but not boomy
connects to either right or left 'phone
nice build quality, elegant look and feel
band is unpadded and a bit tight: not comfortable for extended periods
volume control is a slider switch, making fine changes in volume difficult
pause or mute button is very small and hard to find
no controls for skipping or repeating
I have not used it during a call, so cannot comment on the mic quality.
