Extreme Performance for Professional Gaming
This advanced Philips gaming display redraws the screen up to 144 times per second for ultra-smooth, brilliant images. Features the SmartFrame that helps you highlight dark screen areas, SmartSize to play on difference screen sizes, Special gaming presets and remote Smart Keypad that gives you total control for the enhanced smooth gaming experience.
144Hz Refresh Rate Delivers Ultra Smooth Motion in Graphics
You play intense, competitive gaming. You demand display with lag-free, ultra smooth images. This Philips display redraws the screen image up to 144 times per second, effectively 2.4x faster than a standard display. A lower frame rate can make enemies appear to jump from spot to spot on the screen, making them difficult targets to hit. With 144Hz frame rate, you get those critical missing images on the screen which shows enemy movement in ultra smooth motion so you can easily target them. With ultra low input lag and no screen tearing, this Philips display is your perfect gaming partner.
Fast 1ms GTG Response Time for Smooth Rendering
Boasting a 1ms GTG fast response time means you get to enjoy fast-moving actions with worrying about image smearing or ghosting that occurs with slow respone time. Experience enhanced gaming as it should be with this smooth rendering Philips gaming display.
SmartFrame for Better Visibility Gaming
SmartFrame enables you to spot your opponents easily by highlighting a specific area on the screen. By boosting the gain level of RGB in the selected area, it allows you to give more attention to that specific part of the screen where you expect sudden enemy movement. Dark areas where enemies can hide are brightened without over-exposing bright areas, giving you the edge in any gaming situations. You can also adjust size and image to your preference. It is especially suitable for RTS (Real-Time Strategy) games.
SmartImage Gaming Presets Gives You Six Modes
The new Philips gaming display has quick access OSD fine tuned for gamers, offering you multiple options. 'FPS' mode (First-Person Shooter) improves dark themes in games, allowing you to see hidden objects in dark areas. 'Racing' mode adapts display with fastest response time, high color, along with image adjustments. 'RTS' mode has a special SmartFrame mode which enables highlighting of specific area and allows for size and image adjustments. 'Gamer 1' and 'Gamer 2' enable you to save personal customized settings based on different games, ensuring best performance.
SmartKeypad for Easy Access to Your Gaming Presets
SmartKeypad is a specially designed remote controller that connects to this Philips gaming display. It enables fast and convenient access to your gaming presets with 2 quick key access buttons, allowing you to save and activate two personalized custom settings either for gaming or other purposes. With additional up and down fuction keys, you can now easily navigate in the OSD menu and settings directly.

As for how it looks with 144hz, awesome if not amazing would be the best way to describe it. After being on 60 hz monitors since 09, I wasn't really all that convinced about 144. I knew it would look nice, but how nice? Apparently very nice, its something you have to see to believe. Was messing between 60 hz, 120 hz, and 144 and there is a very notable difference, you eyes can literally feel it. Even my dad, who is 55 and not the most tech savy person in the world, even noticed the difference. I noticed one reviewer mentioned said it felt like he was cheating, he is right. Games play so perfectly its not even funny. GOOD BYE V SYNCH.
I have ran into one or two minor quirks worth mentioning, but nothing that affects the monitor in any way. I like the usb ports, but using them the other day with my wireless headset it seems to cut out here and there. Plugged it back into my pc and no problems. Might have just been the game or something else, have to test it more. Also I noticed the screen saver not working all the time, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Again, not really blaming the monitor, we all know how pc's can be.
I'm using an amd 8350 4hz, evga gtx 680, 8 gig ddr3, 6gb sec 4tb drive, asus mobo. For 6 months or so this setup didn't feel like much. As you can see it's no slouch. Not really being impressed with it i wasn't paying to much mind to my new pc. That was until my crappy 19 inch samsung screen crapped out. Oh well, time for a NEW ONE! This monitor gave a whole new meaning to playing games on my pc, and really unleashed what its capable of. Don't be lazy like i was and forked up all this cash for a new pc, just to be using a crappy monitor. You don't want this monitor, you NEED this monitor if your using a high end setup. Otherwise your wasting your money cause you didn't spend more. Yes, it sounds crazy but its true. BUY THIS.
You must enable the 144hz refresh rate. Out of the box it is clocked at 60hz. You can do this under your control panel's settings. Reference the other reviews on a step by step.
To enable G-Sync you will need to have the Nvidia Geforce Experience software (Free from Nvidia). You can enable G-Sync from the Nvidia Control Panel. Be sure to turn on V-Sync on your games as G-sync is enable via V-Sync option under graphic settings in your games.
I think the biggest thing with the TN panels is the 144Hz refresh rate...If you ever stop using the standard 60Hz which is still a huge debate that anything over 60 can't be seen..I can tell you 4-SURE there is a difference. The difference is across the board from video to regular web surfing..
I did do some adjustments with the Philips...nothing major, lower brightness I think... I would 4-SURE buy this again which I'm sure I will... The only drawback is it only having Displayport for a hook-up but I'm guessing this is something they would consider changing..On the other hand, If you are looking to buy a g-sync 144Hz monitor I would think you have a good video card..Many people are going with multiple monitors now so Philips should add HDMI and or DVI...
Pros: great picture quality from DVI connection, 144htz makes an immediate difference I was blown away, the stand is outstanding, convenient controller included, every cable you can think of comes with it for free.
It was fairly easy to get the colors on all 3 in sync.
