Although I don't like these bulbs for aesthetics, the quality and brightness of the light produced is equal to an incandescent bulb.
They seem to flicker at lower dimmer settings. Wish they were a bit brighter but all the LED's on the market for this style seem to be about the same. I bought this for the brand name thinking they would be perfect.
I received the my order, 9 bulbs, at the same time... and proceed to install them. Sadly four of the bulbs are not the same light color as the other five. As soon as the first off color blub was installed, the packaging was checked to verify that it was the correct bulb.
All of the packaging for the "warm" bulbs and the four "cooler color" bulbs appears identical. Examining the bulbs themselves, again, all markings are the same. (I was hoping to locate a "batch" number or a production date difference) Unfortunately now I have a mix matched set, with packaging that is not re-usable
I suppose I will need to purchase and hand sort them myself if I want to use LED bulbs in fixtures like this in the future.
I bought some glass frosting, like this: http://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-1903830-Frosted-Glass-11-Ounce/dp/B0009XCKBA
and applied a few soft coats to the bulbs. The results were quite good and they now cast a much softer light.
Since these LED bulbs only get slightly warm on the base, the glass frosting should last for the entire life of the LED bulb (which is supposed to be quite long).

Just the right light to accent a few of my lamps for low lighting. I prefer Philips bulbs since they are so well made.Published 4 months ago by MICHAEL DUREE
The dimming capabilities were quite poor. I noticed very little difference in brightness. And when I turned it to about half power, it just shut off.Published 13 months ago by C. Lee
Three years and going strong. Better choice than conventional incandescent bulb. Different look due to LED, but close enough, and worth it for the LED-ness of them.Published 18 months ago by Jerry D. Bain
Good color. It's a warmer LED light than other basic halogen/LED bulbs. Bought one to test out in a pendant - we liked it so bought two more bulbs. Read morePublished 19 months ago by A.D.
Great light for our bedroom ceiling fan! Be aware though that this bulb emits most of its light toward the tip. Read morePublished 20 months ago by BassicallyDoug
