You can use the warmer to gently thaw frozen breast milk or baby food. This is more convenient than defrosting under a running tap, faster than defrosting in the refrigerator, and safer than using a microwave.

The warming reference table included with the device makes it easy to calculate the correct heat-up time. The unit heats up five ounces of room temperature breast milk in approximately three minutes.

**I have not used it to defrost**
I always thaw my milk in the fridge then warm it when the boy is ready to eat. It is recommended to not microwave breast milk which Is why we got this, and I do like it! I also like the keep warm feature it has because sometimes hubby warms a bottle thinking theta what the baby wants and it's not so he keeps it warm until it is what he wants. It works great! Just follow the directions and it is fine.
FTM here, and I think this is a pretty decent bottle warmer though I haven’t had any other experience to compare. Pretty easy to use, I love how wide it is and that there is a cord keeper at the bottom. I was adamant on using the Avent bottles for feeding as I liked how wide they were and this warmer is of course designed to work perfectly with those.
Disadvantage though is that there isn’t a timer or an auto shut off option. You really have to watch it to make sure your bottle doesn’t overheat, and you must remember to turn it off when done with use. My baby is 2 months old and is eating more and more but I’m still afraid to use any other heat setting other than the half bottle. We use both the glass and plastic Avent bottles and both heat just as well, though I find that I prefer the glass as it is a little better at protecting the milk from overheating. It’s also hard to see where the milk line is on your bottle when it’s in the warmer so you have to kind of estimate how much water to add.
Overall I got this for a very reasonable price, so I can’t complain too much about it as it was so much more expensive at the department Baby stores. It does what it’s supposed to, and since my baby is on formula we aren’t using this too much since we make her bottles right before feeding as much as we can.
