They are easy to use and I liked the idea of just modifying my current avent bottles, but my kid never figured out how to get a good drink from them. She just chewed on the spouts. We had better luck with the nuby cups until she figured out how to drink from a spout shape.

EDIT 6 months later: these have held up really well in the dishwasher and now that my kid knows how to drink from the spout shape, they're pretty great. We have recently taken off the plastic no-spill valve, and this made them my kid's favorite cup. They do spill a little when dropped without the valve, but it's a small amount compared to an open cup, and it still allows her to take big gulps when she wants. I added a star- I'm glad we kept them and tried them again once the general sippy cup concept was mastered.

If you're thinking about buying one of the "training" cups, just buy these instead and use them on bottles. The addition of a handle on "training" cups doesn't really add anything. The bottle is much less confusing for baby and, therefore, a much easier transition.

That said, these spouts are a little hard to clean and there is a lot of "air" in the beverage when baby drinks with them, which frustrates her, I think. But that is a problem with ALL sippy cup spouts, not just these ones. We skipped this nonsense and went straight to straws for our babies, but some babies prefer sippy cups - in which case, these are a good way to go.

spouts are easy to use for my 6mo old. We purchased to use with the BPA free Klean Kanteen.

So glad we found these. We used the Avent trainer cups with my first child, now age four. I wanted to reuse the cups for my next child, but the spouts were worn out and not coming clean. We could only find the soft silicone spouts in the stores. I used those at first, when Baby was just learning about using cups. But they let liquid out very quickly. Once he learned how to sip, I needed spouts with some control. Avent doesn't make them anymore, so I was happy to find this London company still selling some. Glad I don't have to buy all new cups!

I love the option of using the bottles I already have as sippy cups.

I use these in conjunction with the klean kanteen kids size stainless water bottle and klean kanteen adapter. These tops and the adapter make it a 30 dollar water bottle but it's durable and so far has lasted for three years. However, the flaw with these soft tops is that they are NOT easy to clean and I got a black mold in the underside edge on one of the two I own and no matter how I tried to clean it the black remained. Perhaps this is due to how it is placed on the adapter for the klean kanteen, I'm unsure. Regardless, I expected them to be easy to clean and remain mold free.

I used these for my first son. I really wish they weren't discontinued because I loved them! The new sippy inserts are made of a softer material whereas these ones are more solid to make the transition easier from nipples to sippy cups with hard spouts.

Let me start by saying I think it's WONDERFUL of Avent to offer their consumer the option to modify what they already own! I bought 2 Avent bottles for our son to use while my mom watched him for our anniversary. He was exclusively breastfed & only used 1 bottle, that 1 time. When his doctor suggested starting him on sippy cups with a little bit of water (6months), I really didn't want to run out & buy something else that would take up more space in our cabinets. I bought these guys & the handles. Our son loves the handles, but has really struggled with the spout. I would go so far as to say he cannot drink from it. I eventually caved & bought 2 Nuby 2 Handle Cups with Soft Spouts. He can drink out of the super soft spout much easier. I do wish this product would have worked for him because when I screw on the Nuby lid, the spout does not align with the handles. The Avents *always* align. To sum it up, I am giving it 4 stars even though it didn't work for our family, because (1) I love that Avent offers a modification for consumers, (2) the handles rock & the spout & handles align super easily, & (3) my baby is exclusively breastfed & has very little experience with bottles (1 bottle, 1 time) - I believe a baby who knows how to drink from a bottle would have a much easier time with this product.
